Arrival Story:
When we moved here last June, we acquired Buddee as a stray and I started feeding him. Not long after that, he bit me badly on the arm and it swelled up bad. Took two weeks for it to go away, but since there was no redness I didn't seek medical attention, just made sure it was kept clean. After that, he came to eat more and more. Once he figured out that neither of us would hurt him, he started coming every day to eat. Last winter I was sure something had happened to him because I didn't see him for well over a week. It was well below zero every day and night plus the snow was very deep. I prayed every day that he would be all right and looked for him all the time to come in to eat. I even set up a box with old towels in it hoping he would camp in it, but he didn't. I have an old dog carrier on the porch and have it tied to stay open with an old mattress cover and plastic over the top so he could have gone in there too. About then, he came back and I was so happy to see him that I cried. He is totally an outdoor cat and refuses to come inside. That might not be a good idea anyway, as we have 7 indoor only cats and one indoor/outdoor and they're all female to boot! He's such a sweetheart though and is spending more and more time around the property. He's very tall and long with an angular face that reminds me of a Siamese, but alas, I don't know any of his history except for right here. I have taken a guess at his age and I think I'm pretty close to being right, making him four years this month. He does have an attitude though and I have to be on my toes to be aware of when he growls, back off. He doesn't bite anymore since that one time, but he will swat at me without claws if I do something he doesn't like. I just talk to him and he calms down. He's a very special cat and I love him dearly and he knows it too!

Bio:
I have no idea what the history on Buddee is, but I do know he was someone's pet at one time. He's been neutered and has a distinct collar mark. We live not fifty feet from the Canadian border, so he may indeed have lived with someone there. He comes in from that direction in the morning, so I think that's probably the case.

Meowma Cheri here posting for my much loved Buddee. He has gone missing for the last two days and last time I saw him he had a nasty wound on his upper left leg just at the point where it joins to the body. He wouldn't let me touch him or pet him as I normally would and came in just long enough to scarf up some food and he was gone. We usually have a schmoozing session, but he was having none of it and I haven't seen him since. I've called and called till I'm hoarse, hoping to hear his little meow or have him come to me. We have an acre and a half and I've been over every inch of it plus across the road and up the road. Can't go the other way or I'll be in Canada and breaking some laws.

Please, can everyone just give him some PoP that he's okay and doesn't have some infection in that wound that's keeping him down and without food for two days now? He's gotten to be such a sweet boy and never attempts to bite anymore or even scratch. He's come a long way from what he was when we first got adopted by him and I'm scared to death for him out here with no attention to his wound.

*bows her head and says a prayer for her boy Buddee that he finds his way home for care and food. Asks her angel Starr to light his way home to her, no worse for wear.*

Thanks all!

Me??? A DDP????

OMC!!!! Meowza!!! I am in total, absolute shock! I neffur, effur thought I would be a DDP, but I am so very honored to be one! Meowma is so happy and so am I! I even got treats for it! I didn't even like those till about a month ago, then Meowma got some that I dearly love and she gives them to me every few days.

I am doing fairly well now and have been out patrolling the yard and staying fairly close. I don't meander around as much as I used to and I sure do know that there will always be plenty of food and love here for me when I want it. One day maybe I will learn to trust enough to stay on the porch during bad weather, but for right now I tend to go in and out at my will and find shelter close but not on the porch. Meowma has a nice large crate out there with a warm towel in the bottom, but I choose the outdoors where I can see what's going on. Thankfully the limp is almost gone. It's still there, but nowhere near what it was. I thank effuryone for all the rosies and purrs and purrayers! I know that's what helped me through this.

Purrs of Love,

Buddee

PS: Thank you Catster and Diary Lady for making me a DDP! You're pawsome!
