Arrival Story:
We were unemployed and it was a few days before Christmas. The weather was bad - sleet and freezing rain all day. I kept hearing a kitten cry and searched all around the house but could not find the kitty. We decided to go ahead and go to town to get our Christmas tree. We were gone for hours. When we returned I could still hear the crying kitty. I walked around the house again and finally looked up. In our tree was a starved kitten. I yelled for my husband and he ran for a ladder. I got a warm towel out of the dryer and my husband despite his hurt back, climbed the tree to rescue the cat. The kitty was out so far on a limb that my husband had to extend a rake to the him. Thank God, the kitty climbed onto the rake and was pulled to safety. My husband handed the kitty to me and I wrapped him in the warm towel. The kitty instantly began to purr and knead my face. We rushed to the house To feed and warm him. He did nothing but sleep, eat and purr for two days. On the third day, he discovered the Christmas tree and his brother, Herman. We discovered that he was a awful cute brat and named him Archie Nemesis because of how he teased his big brother. We call Archie our Christmas present from God.

Archie runs out of the front door when it is open. He has been lost more times than I can count. It got so bad that business owners have stopped taking down the lost cat posters we post - they keep them for reference and call me to pick him up. Archie thinks is OK to go into the store if he stays in the pet section. He has been found on top of palettes of cat food. The manager now has his employees deliver Archie to our front door. People I don't even know will tell me "he's not lost, thats Archie". He befriends homeless kitties and brings them home. Archie still talks like a kitten - purrt is his favorite word.
