I cannot take this constant meowing anymore! I am losing my mind. Monida is screaming at the top of her lungs until she's making herself sick. I can't handle it. The calming collar is supposed to be here tomorrow or so, and I'm desperately hoping it will work because I'm quickly running out of ideas and options.
Ok. Just a rant from a sleep-deprived, extremely stressed cat mom.
Why are you meowing, Monida? You must be trying to tell your Mom something important. I hope the calming collar helps you calm down!
Did she only start this after you moved?
Is she fixed?
We sure hope you will get relief from that calming collar.
You don't say what her attention is directed at. Window, you, somewhere specific in the apartment ?
This did not appear to start right when you moved,so she can't be upset with her environment.
Mo sounds like a cat in heat or looking for a friend.
Did a cat move in that may not be nuetered..she can smell him?
Hope that collar comes in soon...
Purring for you and Mo!!
Purring the collar comes soon!
Is it only at the window? Or does she stand by the door too? Can you cover the window with cardboard or something so that she can't see out? We hope the collar comes soon and that it helps calm things down.
Is giving her her own cat room an option? Mom says that I can be quite vocal most of the time too, but at night I stay in my cat room and meowmy sleeps with the tv on to drown out my meowing and it seems to work for her.
Maybe she needs a friend? We have plenty to spare,& if they fit they ship....maybe Nonny is onto something....
We agree with everyone....need to figure out why she is doing this meowing all the time....hope the calming collar helps, but you do need to figure out why!!!!!
Purring for you Monida!
Is she meowing mostly at dusk and dawn and during the night? Dusk and dawn is when natures tells us: Go Hunt
We are purring for peace and QUIET in your house.
Honestly, at this point I would call the vet for advice. Maybe she needs recreational drugs or something! MOL!
I don't mean to make a joke out of it, just try the calming collar, and if it's not enough, seriously, call a vet. Some temporary mild tranquilizer or antidepressant may be in order at this point. She needs to chill and find out that the outside is out there all the time, and will continue to be...
I'm with Tink - call the vet! The tranquilizer may be a good idea for everyone - the Mama needs sleep and Monida needs the chilling. It's not a permanent thing; just something to give some rest.
I used to just meow all the time. Momma had no idea why, nothing was wrong with me, but then I stopped doing it.
