My mom is lame

Hi friends!

I'm sorry I haven't been around, and I just wanted to stop by and say hi. My mom's been really sick for the past few weeks, and she hasn't had the energy to do anything for a while. :(

I know I've missed a bunch of special days, and I'm really sorry. Hopefully mom will start to feel better soon and I can spend more time here. Till then, everyone take care!

Thank you all so much for celebrating my gotcha day with me! I'm so glad to have you all, as my mom completely forgot about the day! Can you believe it?!?! When she woke to see all the rosies, she couldn't figure out what was going on. Humph. So thank you everyone!!

And thanks to everyone who sent Easter eggs! I hope you all had a nice holiday. Sorry we haven't been around too much, mom has just been so busy. But we try to stop by at least once a day and check in with our friends.

Coolest toy EVER!

Oh my cats guys!

I have the coolest new toy ever!! Mom used the zoom groom on me (yay! I love the zoom groom!) and then rolled my fur into a disk. Then she tossed it in the air, and the games were on!

I grabbed that ball and ran to the bedroom with it, so mom tossed it again, and I chased it, lowered my ears and POUNCED on it! Then I ran and took it to my water dish.

Mom kept tossing it and I kept leaping and chasing until I couldn't move any more. Whew! Mom says I have never played with any toy like I did tonight. She's hoping I'll keep it up, so I can lose some of these winter pounds. :)

I just joined this group a few weeks ago, and they are pawsome! You all should come join in the fun - the party lasts all weekend, so just come and go as you please. I stopped by for a minute tonight, and there was a ton of food and toys!

Spare a purr?

So you guys know how there's a stray kitty around here who mom has been feeding? Well, she was wondering if you could spare a purr for her. See, we're supposed to get a giant snowstorm tonight and the temperatures are supposed to plummet to below zero. Mom's tried to get closer to her, but she just runs away. :(

Mom's very worried about what will happen during the storm. She keeps hoping the kitty does have a home. The kitty comes and visits the same time every night looking for food. She doesn't look too skinny, so maybe she just lives outside sometimes ... We hope so.


Speaking of the stray kitty, guess what I did? I chased that stray kitty all through the parking lot. Oh, mom was so mad at me. I squeezed out the door and took off! I knew that cat was out there! Mom thought she had lost me. But luckily the cat must of hid under a parked car, and I stood halfway under it, so mom was able to grab me. She was not pleased at all. I told her I was just protecting my territory.

Who the heck is that?!

Oh, my friends! Have I got a story for you!

So you know how before Thanksgiving, my tail was hurting? Well, mom figured out what probably happened. A few days later, she heard a commotion in the kitchen. She ran out to find me huffing like a bull about to charge and slamming my tail against the kitchen window. Well, she looked out and what did she see? ANOTHER KITTY! Just sitting on the steps at eye level with me.

Well, she left me for a few days and when she got home last night, I ran outside to eat some grass like I always do. She was watching me when all of a sudden I poofed WAY up and side-hopped over to the bushes and then she heard the cat fight. She broke it up, but I was pretty pleased at myself for defending my territory.

Anyway, tonight she was feeling bad for the kitty so she put down some food outside. Not 10 minutes later, it was gone. So she put down some more. When she got back, it was gone again. She is hoping the kitty has a home, but she's beginning to doubt it. It makes her sad because right now it's only 14 degrees out, and it's only going to get much, much, much colder.

She seems to have some grand plans of getting the kitty inside, but don't worry, I won't let that happen! I am brave!!

(P.S. from mom: Even if I do get the kitty inside, I don't know that I would keep it. But the poor thing really shouldn't be outside in such cold weather. :( It makes me so sad.)

So sad. :(

Fridge jumping, Part II

I told mom she needed to be clearer about what she meant when I jump on top of the fridge.

Normally she wouldn't care that I'm up there, but if you check out my new photo, you can see that I'm jumping across the kitchen. :) It's pretty awesome. And totally safe, I swear!

Howdy, howdy!

Hi friends!

I sure hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving! I went to my grandma and grandpa's house, and minus being terrorized by a dog, it was great! Right before I left, though, I decided to scare my mom by dragging my tail. Yup. I wouldn't lift it at all. So she hurried and got me in to the vet right before we were set to hit the road. The vet wasn't sure what was wrong, so we decided to wait and watch it, and of course it was just fine by the time I got to my grandparents' house. Hahaha mom!

Mom also ruined my fun. :( I made the mistake of jumping from the counter to the top of the fridge (a good 5, 6-foot jump across a huge gap!) while she was watching. She seems to think I'll hurt myself. Pshaw. Although she was able to finally figure out why the picture next to the fridge was messed up one day.

Anyway, that's all I've got for now. I know I've missed some of my friends' important and special days, and I'm very sorry. Mom is still crazy-busy at work, but she's trying to get her schedule down so that I can spend more time here playing.
