Arrival Story: Our elderly cats, Bonnie and Clyde, went to the Rainbow Bridge -- first Bonnie at age 15 and then Clyde at age 17. We said "No more pets." That didn't last long -- the house was so empty. Our vet takes in pregnant strays and helps them have their kittens. Afterward, Mom is spayed and she and the kittens are kept at the vet's or in foster homes until they have forever homes. So, back to the vet we went. Cuddled together on top of a cat condo were two black bundles of fur. Turned out they were 7-month old brothers who were born and had lived their lives at the vet's office -- Mighty Mouse and Hector (who would become Teddy). There was no way we could take just one, so Hector and his brother came to live with us. They were identical, so the vet supplied red and blue collars so we could tell them apart. Imagine our surprise when in October, our black medium-haired Teddy became a long haired black cat with a silver ruff. We were even more surprised when the next spring he again became a medium-haired black cat.
Bio: We didn't care for the names Hector and Mighty Mouse, so the brothers became Sherlock and Holmes (now Teddy). That held for a short time until the vet called to say that the adoption of another kitty we really liked had fallen through and were we still interested. Couldn't say no, so Jack came to live with us. We went from "No more pets" to three very quickly. Given my political persuasion, our little family became Jack, Bobby (Mighty Mouse/Sherlock) and Teddy (Hector/Holmes) Kittedy. Teddy is a one-woman cat -- mommy's baby.

I've Been On Catster Since:
He chased me all over this morning -- he was really mad at me, and I don't know why. I was laying on My Table next to My Mommy. Mommy knocked her coffee cup over, and since I didn't want a coffee bath, I jumped down to the floor and landed right next to Jack, who was intently watching a squirrel. I scared Jack and he squeaked. Bobby, that crazy brother of mine, was off His Daddy's lap and after me like a madcat. He chased me and caught me and pulled out some of my hair, let me run again and caught me again. I yelled at My Mommy to make him stop, but he paid no attention to her. Then, Mr. H yelled at him, and he stopped. I ran back to My Table thinking I was safe, but here comes that Madcat again. This time, Mr. H picked him up and put him in the Little Room.
I don't know why he was mad at me -- I didn't do anything! I'm sure not going to have anything to do with him for awhile!
Because of Catster, My Mommy's been obsessed with her camera. Before Catster, My Mommy would take our pictures occasionally, wait until there were no more pics left on the roll of film, take it in to be processed, and then file away the prints in a book. After we joined Catster, My Mommy kept complaining that she couldn't get pics of us quick enough and that most of what she took were not Catster-worthy. So, she went out and bought a new fandangled camera that is Catster-worthy. So, she's been trying it out -- on us. Everyplace we go and everything we do (well, almost everything -- at least we still have privacy in the BOX) -- there she is. Eat - click; get a drink of water - click; try to nap - click; take a bath - click, click, click. She even took that darned thing to bed with her to get a pic of Bobby laying atop His Daddy in the morning. Bobby had had enough -- no pic of that. Even Mr. H is not safe -- she showed me one of his pics and I had to MOL! So, Catster, I hope you're happy. Add one more obsessed mommy to your roll-call.
Have to run. Want to get all my fur smoothed down and my whiskers in shape for my next pic!
"The cat seldom interferes with other peoples' rights. His intelligence keeps him from doing many of the fool things that complicate life." (Carl Van Vechten, American writer and photographer)
Now isn't that the truth, Dear Diary. I am very tolerant of my brothers' rights (Bobby could take a lesson from me). I know that Jack gets My Mommy's lap for twenty minutes before she goes to work in the morning and that Bobby gets pets and lovin' from My Mommy in the middle of the night. Our relationships are based on mutual respect. Have you ever watched two cats approach each other -- now there's respect. We care not about our colors or breeds. We don't care where a cat is from. We take only what we need and don't hoard so others have none (except Jack and his balls). We are appreciative of kindness and generous in our gratitude. We forgive those who hurt us, but we might not completely forget they have wronged us. We keep our lives simple and uncomplicated. We can live together in peace.
Don't you think people could live like we do, Dear Diary?
