Likes: So far Easy is still recooperating and putting on weight, so sleeping and eating are his favorite things to do! And taking up the whole bed, of course.

Pet-Peeves: Being left alone!

Favorite Toy: Peacock feather and shoe strings!

Favorite Nap Spot: Smack in the middle of his owners' bed.

Favorite Food: Royal Canin Kitten, and Innova canned food (until he is a normal weight). Easy also LOVES the Pill Pockets I have to put his medicine in.

Skills: Easy is doing great with 3 legs, I think that's a talent for sure! Running, and jumping onto furniture and window sills after just a few days!

Dwells:
indoors

Arrival Story: When I visited my family a few towns away, they were frustrated because they had a kitten running around their porches and yards crying because of a large injury on his front left leg. He was severely emaciated and the flies and fleas were just eating away at him. Animal Control, local rescue groups and the shelters were just too packed or busy, and there wasn't much my parents could do for him. Luckily I work closely with a Veterinarian and was able to take Easy over to him a couple of days later. Easy was determined to be about 8 months old, unneutered, FIV/FelV negative, parasite free, and it was inevitabe that his front left leg had to come off. The Vet thinks Easy may have been hit by a car or attacked by some local feral cats. I have not been able to find his original owners (if there are any). Easy has been in my home since 5/21/09 and is doing great. He has had his operation, has been neutered and all of his innoculations. Easy still has alot fo cuts and bruising on his face and body, and his stitches are set to come out in another week or two. Even after just a few days now, Easy is getting around great, playing like a normal kitten and as loving as I never could've expected considering all he's been through.

Bio: Easy looks like he may be either a Siamese mix or a Snowshoe. He has a new brother cat, Dr. Strange, and doggy brother, Ichi. He has only briefly met Ichi, but hasn't met Dr. Strange yet. we're hopefuly all will go well when they meet and we can be a big happy family! We are going to wait until Easy is well enough to keep up with the other kitty and bop the doggy on the head!

Easy has gained 1 pound this week! His face is so much fatter and he has really started to fill out, he almost looks like a normal cat. I'm slighty nervous he might have some ringworm starting on his nose :-/, but I'm really hoping its a boo boo thats starting to surface. We keep finding little random boo boos all over Easy, but they're all healing very nicely! Go Easy!

This is Easy's first week in his home with me. Easy was rescued just a week ago, last Tuesday. Saturday my family told me about him in their back yard. of course they kept calling him a "her" because he's just so pretty! Hehe. Easy was so thin, so so thin, and so beat up. He had a LARGE gash on his front left leg, and you could see it down to the bone. It was clean from either just happening, or from the flies eating at it :-(. Because he was covered in flies, fleas and ticks, my parent's couldn't let him in their house because of their other dogs and cats. My parents had been calling Animal control and the SPCA all week about Easy, because he was insuch pain and needed help so fast. He was walking around crying and asking for help for a few days. Obviously, money is an issue for everyone right now, and no one was able to assume his much needed vet care and the bills that come with that. So, when I stopped by Saturday, we made a makeshift home outside for Easy and fed him and kept him clean as possible. I work closely with a Vet, and he was able to squeeze Easy in Tuesday. When I went back to pick Easy up, he put on alot of weight, but his leg had turned black. He was dragging it and I knew it was dead and needed to be amputated. Easy was nice and quiet the whole car ride. When we got to the Vet and waited in the waiting room, THEN Easy started "yeowing". Dr. Tavory saw Easy's condition and confirmed the amputation had to be done. First we tested him for the normal diseases, but everything turned up fine! So we proceeded as planned with his surgery. We also noticed Easy was unneutered, and if he was going to live with me, he needed to be snipped! Thursday Dr. Tavory did the surgeries. I wish I was able to help! Easy was given flea meds and rabies and other standard shots, to make him a normal healthy kitty!
Friday morning Dr. Tavory told me it was time for Easy to be picked up, and I left work to get him. Since I work for a pet company, I was able to bring Easy back to hang out with me in my office for the day to keep an eye on him. He was doing well, getting around well, but was still feeling woozy. Later than afternoon I brought him home and let him have Ichi's bed, since Ichi only uses it to dig and hide bones in! Easy was hissing at Ichi at first, but he settled. A few minutes later he did bop Ichi on his head while he was laying in Ichi's bed, but no harm done. I left Easy for the night with my roomates, but he only slept! He did use the litterbox right away and eat like he's never eaten before!
Saturday night was the first time Easy started running up and down the steps and jumping onto the beds and couches. He slept in my bed with me that night. Sunday night he thought it would be cute to wake me up by chewing on my fingers and scratching my bed. So he made me wake up at 4 am to play with him and a peacock feather. Since then, Easy has been a normal cat... kitten, actually. Runs everywhere! Tries to jump in places he can't reach, play-bites anyone who touches his belly, and rubs on anything around him. His stitches are set to come out in about 10 days, and his penicillin will be done in another 6.
Will update as soon as we have an update!
