Arrival Story: The story of how Buddy came into our lives is a touching one, because we didn't exactly choose him- he chose us. One day in April, my brother was arriving home from a friend's house and he called to tell me that there's a skinny cat hanging out on our grandmom's front porch. So, we ran out to buy some cat food to nourish him back to health. What we found so extra ordinary about him, was that he was skinny and obviously neglected, yet he was still purring and wanting to be close to us- people he'd never seen before. We all begged our mom to let us keep him and until she said yes, he just camped out on the front porch and we, my brother and I, occasionally snuck him into our house. One day when I was inside looking out on the front porch, to see if Buddy was there, I saw a little girl who was calling Buddy's name (at the time we didn't have a name for Buddy and we didn't even know if he was a boy or girl). So, I ran outside and asked her if this was her cat. She said no and that it was her neighbor's cat and he kicked him out a little while ago, for the second time. She also told us his name was Buddy. Then I asked her if her neighbor wanted him anymore(I already knew the answer to this question, but I didn't want top be accused of being a catnapper) and she said I guess not. Meanwhile, she was trying to pick up Buddy and take him home, but he ran away from her and went back onto our porch. Finally, my mom said yes. We took him to the vet, got his shots, had him bathed and had him neutered. Now he enjoys long (and I mean LONG) cat naps all around our house. We kept the name Buddy, because what can I say I guess it just fits him!
