Arrival Story:
I was adopted from the pound 15 years ago when I was 2 years old. The man at the pound was afraid to touch me, but he finally put me in the carrier for Mama. Mama was very patient with me. When we got home, I didn't want to come out of the carrier, but Mama sat beside me and spoke softly to me, and I finally came out. But I wouldn't let Mama touch me for months. So Mama would come home from work every day and sit beside me and speak softly to me. This went on for 2 months. Then one day, I let Mama touch my back. More time went by, and then I let Mama touch my head. More time went by, and then I let Mama pet me. I was home!
