Arrival Story:
Cinder Fella was literally pacing the streets all times of day and night. There were 2 managed feral colonies on my street and after a few weeks it was obvious he wasn't fitting in with either colony. I decided he could be our yard cat if he liked. But when I trapped him and took him in for neuter, the vet tech told me he wasn't "that bad to handle." So I decided to start him in the house and if he hated it, I'd build him a shelter outside. He was so frightened his meow quaked, he had no idea how to use a litterbox, ruined the carpet in his bedroom, but once he did grasp the usefulness of litterboxes, he would probably proclaim when he was using it and he very quickly learned to love beds and couches. After 3 "escapes" and 3 desperate efforts to get back in the house, CindeFella is very clear he adores the house cat life. He rubs up against me at meal time and I can lift him up for a short time...I'm still not allowed to pet himotherwise. He comes and gets me when he wants me to come sit in a room, or on the catio with him,and then he positions himself out of reach but looking at me and giving me "cat kisses" with his eyes.

Bio:
I now know why CindeFella didn't fit in with the feral colonies. He can be truly annoying. He meows A LOT. He seems a little clueless how to interact with other cats. He is also brillant at stealing my attention from the other kitties. My other cats get so annoyed with him but then will go sit with him, especially if they have hurt his feelings. And as the time goes by and CindeFella is more confident, he's is learning to relax slightly to the relief of me and the other cats. At least the meowing is no longer nonstop.
