Arrival Story: Tiger was born to a homeless young mother. He was born in a neighbor's backyard. The neighbor had a lot of cats and her home was foreclosed on. Tiger's cat mommy was one of her cats. He lived outdoors for four months. He was scared of people, but his love of food soon overpowered his fear. He allowed himself to be petted and would take treats from my hand. He even started to roll over and show his belly. His gotcha day was traumatic. The winter was coming closer, and the neighbors were taking Tiger's mommy and siblings to a shelter. Tiger wasn't supposed to go. He was the only one of his siblings that was not feral, and there was an effort to find a home for him. Mommy really wanted him but was afraid that my other cats would not accept him. Everyone was trying to come up with a plan to make sure Tiger was adopted by a good family. One day, a neighbor set the trap, and caught Tiger and took him to the shelter. When the neighbor next door called to make sure they would still be open, the woman at the shelter said they would be there for a half hour and she had to hurry. Mommy came home from work and found out what happened and was so relieved to see Tiger safe and sound. He was whisked to the vet and has been in the house ever since, where he has been loved and spoiled as he deserves.

Diary of the Day 11/8/12
This was my fifth Gotcha Day. Thank you, friends, for celebrating with me. I don't even remember what it was like to live outside. When I first came inside, I had my Aunt Beauty, Uncle Tiny, and brother Buster. Now I am the only cat. No matter what has changed, I know my Mommy loves me every day and she's happy that she has me. And I am lucky to have friends and family.
Thank you for remembering Tiny and Beauty's Gotcha Days. Mommy remembers their days very well. Beauty went right to the vet to be fixed and had to stay overnight. She was very scared when she came home and wanted to go outside. That was the only time she wanted to go outside after coming in. Beauty got used to being a hoisecat very quickly. Tiny went to get fixed, came home a few hours later, came out of his carrier, and took over the house.
I have two new friends, a boy kitten and a girl kitten. They both live outside. They were born feral but were tnr'd and got their shots and we are helping to feed them. Even though they were born feral, they are tame now and like people. The boy used to come to see me and play with me from the other side of the screen door. The other day, the boy kitten came in to meet me, but it didn't go well. He cried to go outside. I wasn't afraid of him, but I did go under my kitchen table because the kitten started to cry to go out. His sister is friendlier, but now neither of them seems interested in playing with me. They only come to the door for a few minutes now. I guess they have more important things to do.
