Arrival Story: Casey and her step sister Callie adopted their mommy quite by accident. She was visiting her best friend in California. Her friend was away for the day and she was hungry, so went out to find something to eat. With none of the local places interesting her, she decided to stop at the supermarket and get some junk food to knosh on instead. Well... two young boys were outside with a box. Mommy says she should have kept right on walking but... out popped my head and it was love at first sight!
Also in the box were my step sister Callie and her sister. They were waaaay little, so couldn't pop their heads out yet. They werre only about 5 weeks old and I was bigger at 8 weeks. Mommy just didn't kow what to do! She went into the store in a frenzy! This was California and she lived waaaay over in NY. However she couldn't bear the idea of just leaving us, so after wandering aimlessly around the store decided that if we were still there, she'd take all 3 of us.
Well, when she got there, Callie's sister, an orange and white little cutie, was being taken by a young woman. That left me and Callie - a gray tabby with six toes. I just curled up on mommy's lap and Callie looked up longingly and meowed and then curled up on mommy's lap too. Mommy says we stole her heart. I think that's a good thing. :-)
The boys' mommy showed up and explained how she found us. Two separate litters were born on her property and she took them all in. Unfortunately she could NOT keep 14 cats, so had to find homes for us. Mommy thinks she got the last of the bunch - and the best of them too!
The nice lady explained where mommy could get a carrying case to bring us home, along with the formula Callie would need until she was a big girl like me. She didn't like trying to drink it from the bottle and it was funny to watch her snort when some went up her nose when she tried to lap it up. She got the hang of it pretty quick tho.
When mommy's friend came home, you should have seen the look on her face! She thought mommy was crazy, but mommy said these babies need lots of love and she was gonna give it to us. So what if getting us home was an ordeal... LOL!
Mommy says we have been a source of constant joy for her and she is so glad she brought us home. So are we!

Bio: Mommy Says I was named after her favorite singer - Karen Carpenter. KC = Casey.
She says her little old aunt named Callie. "Joo Chould call her Callie - for Caleefornia!" (appropriate Spanish accent should be used...) Mommy thought that was really funny so decided that would be her name.
