Tis Good to Be a Princess

Our new vet called to say my bloodwork was fine. My thyroid was a little "in the gray area" she said, but nothing she is worrying about, but will keep a yearly check on. My wee, however, she says is prob the most concentrated wee she has seen - that I win a prize for that. Hmm but that does not sound so good. I have no crystals or anything, but she says it is very alkaline, and I am predisposed to developing an issue with crystals or stones in the future. After learning about Tigger's issue (she has not seen the boys yet) She is going to help mom do some food tweaking to help us all. Then when mom briefly told her about the situation with Smitty's tummy & the other vet, she asked "what did his blood test say?" well, when she heard that the old vet did not do that, she was not happy, and wants to see him to make sure there is nothing going on with his tummy & stuff. Mom asked her what causes the urine concentration & high ph, and Dr L says it is common, and is not from the food as we are eating good grain free noms. So we will be working to make sure everyone is eating the best for them. She talked to mom a good long time on the phone, and said mom had excellent questions, and not to worry. So mom says for me not to worry either. Oh and the old vet never ever suggested that I have a urinalysis to check anything since I am over 5 years old - so mom is so glad that when Dr L suggested it, that she said yes, give her the works! because after everything Tigger went through - well nuff said. We had loyalty to that place, as mom was a client there for over 30 years with different pets, but sadly - things changed so much there, and mom is happy with Dr. Lebbin. Shout out for The Cat Clinic!

That really gets me! We had to bug the vet to do blood work on Midnight too and she had a UTI for god's sake! what the heck?! seems to me it's common sense! Hopefully you will get this all figured out.

Hi my sweetie I am glad to hear you are OK...sometimes Mom says it is good to make changes especially if she isn't happy with your Vet no matter how long you have been going there...she says Moms are our voices and Moms need to make sure the Vets are Mom doesn't put up with Vets at all...she tells them like it is and leaves if she isn't happy...

It took Mom 2 years to find out Vet now and they are great, Dr. Kathy realized I had asthma....and none of the other vets did anything or went the extra mile for me...

So we are happy your Mom found a new vet and she is stepping in and doing test and making sure she knows what is going on with all of you....Doing blood work is so important for Vets to do...Like Lacey says hopefully this will get figured out...

Glad everything was OK at the vet. It sounds like you have a really good one now. I think the ones that focus more on cats are better because they know more what to look for. Keep an eye on that thyroid! Sarge had a problem with his and it was caught early. He has to take half a pill every night but the problem is under enough control that he can avoid the pill a few times. Burrs for the poys! Err switch that!
