Well - mom was very impressed by this new vet. I however WAS NOT. They put things in places they should not go, she poked areas that NO ONE shall poke upon my royalness. Then they took my blood & my wee! Oh how I suffered humiliation. However mom has been prattling on about how this was the most thorough exam ever, and the vet lady explained what she was checking for with each prod. My nodes, my spine for tenderness, my mammry glands, my feet! she said I have beautiful clear sparkling green eyes. (course that did not make up for the poking) Anyhow, mom is pleased that vet says I look great, a nice 8 pounds, and very healthy. She will call tomorrow about the blood work. She said I had a few tiny acnes on my chin, which she removed, and told mom that I had to give up my favorite plastic purple bowl from when I was a little tiny kitten. Stainless, glass or ceramic only she says. But we understand. She only gives a distemper shot every 3 years, and asked so many questions about what kind of litter we use, to the brands of all the food we eat, and talked very softly to me the whole time. The place was nice & quiet - no barking doggies (nothing against doggies, but they sceer me)and so clean. And the best part - IT WAS CHEAPER!!! not alot but hey a few bucks will buy me another bag of treats! So next in line is Tigger, then Mom is bringing Smithwick back again, cause she says she doesn't feel right about that other vet. So dependent upon your viewpoint, today was a success for mom or for me an abomination. winks & purrs your royal Maizyness.

Maizy,

Happy to hear you are nice and healthy. Sounds like you found a really good vet lady. It's good when your Mom feel good about your doctor. Glad you didn't have to put up with any doggies. Vet visits are stressful enough without loud barky noises.

Glad it went so well. I had a similar examination last week. Your new vet sounds like a real winner. Yes, it's humiliating and I hate it too, but it's necessary. Sorry to hear about your purple bowl. Water and plastic do something to our skin. We have a drinking fountain that is made of plastic but the water moves and gets changed enough so it's not a real problem. Maybe you can use your bowel for food or keep toys in?

That sounds like a great vet! They're not fun to go to, but they help us when we're sick.

Sorry you had such a rough day Maizy! You and your mom have to be happy that you're in good health! It seems your mom has been successful in finding a new vet too!

hhhhmmmmpppphhh.....

no vet is great according to us girl, I mean it's not like the shopping mall, the jewelers, the bank even if the mom's say....oh, they are soooo great.....

purrhaps you should go with your mom to HER doctor and then see what she has to say huh...

happy though your check up went well and you are healthy even if the vet didn't give you a toy.....

Suffering humiliations -- but for a good cause.
So glad to hear you are okay and get some special attention in your honor.
