Arrival Story:
My daughter was interning at a local Humane Society, and someone brought her in - 1 week old. He had tried to bottle feed her, but realized it was too much for him. So my daugher brought her home & we took turns feeding her round the clock, and watching her grow. We loved her too much to give her back, so we adopted her. She never had any other interaction with other cats, so we think because of this she is very shy & doesn't really like new people or changes at all. She adores me & my husband, and tolerates others. But she is a very sweet girl.

Maizy has many different chirps and mews that she can really convey her mood. She loves to sip from the bathroom sink faucet, and every morning has a ritual of brushing & sips that must take place, in a certain order, down to the number of brushstrokes on her tail!

Well last week I had my blood & urine re-tested. All the levels are normal! I am to stay at a higher dose of prednisolone for another week, then drop to 1/4. I guess I will have to stay on the Denosil & Pepcid & Ursodiol. I am not happy about that, but the alternative is much worse. Once we finish the bag of ZD, Momma is giving us either Merrick Limited INgredient or Natural Balance duck & green pea. She went over all the canned food and eliminated a few that may be an issue too. So- so far so good. I cannot thank you all enough for your purrs

Been trying to log in the past few days, and keep getting an error code. I can go to the page where our paw mails are, but then page is not found. So Please I am not in=gnoring you, I just cannot read them! I was stunned when this link actually worked.
Maizy goes back tomorrow for a blood test to see if levels have improved. We have lots of news to tell about the ultrasound & stuff, but hoping to be able to get back on with more. Maizers is eating, taking her meds very good and acting pretty normal. Only one barfie. She still looks like a tiny greyhound with her belly shaved, but she still knows she is a pretty girl. I will get back on for thank yous, pretty tired right now.

Well apparently I look like a had a fight with a shaver. Doc had to REALY shave my belly for the test - even my hips! My throat is shaved for the blood test they did, so I look pretty pitiful says Momma. My little tummy is all nekkid. Good news is that the vet did not think I would eat last night, but I ate a small can of food, and this morning I was looking for breakfast. Boy I have a bunch of pills to take, but Momma says if they work, it's just fine. I had one more dose of Tramadol today, but I prob don't need it now. So now we wait...for aspirate test results, for ultrasound results and for a full thyroid panel. Momma & The Dad were going to go camping this weekend, but they said no way - Momma doesn't want Nana to have to try & get all that med down me, and just in case I do get sicker (vet said sometimes a kitty will get worse before they get better)(greaaat) Nana would have no way to get me to a vet and well, Nana is wonderful, but is not so good in emergency situations at all. If I stop eating, doc will admit me right away. But keeping positive, I have not thrown up and have been eating and purring and carrying my baby-dog around, singing to her. I have been on some of the meds since Saturday, so Momma thinks getting them in my system right away should be working. I go back next week for a follow up to see if my levels are better. Thank goodness for CareCredit - I don't have insurance cuz they wouldn't cover anything IBD - so Momma said why bother, I will just use the card. Anyways, I do thank you all for the purrs, they are helping! I am to try more limited ingredient food (oh what fun...I am quiet opinionated regarding my food choices) Vet wants me to also try HP food. I had tried the ZD before & it gave me bad gas, so maybe we will try the HP. It is over $50 for a 7lb bag! It is hydrolized so that it will absorb better. I really only eat about 1/8 cup or so for a nite time snack, so MOmma is not sure what to do. Vet thinks Halp may have too much in it - even though it is grain free. Momma says it all gives her a headache - yeah there are plenty of foods, but what difference is it if a kitty won't eat them? well...thank you again my dear friends. You have no idea how much your thoughts help Momma. We so wish Catster was more fixed, so that we could all support each other the way we used to, but it's ok, we know you are there for us. Luv you my Zekie & family, Bibi & Meep, are true friends.....
