Arrival Story:
My daughter was interning at a local Humane Society, and someone brought her in - 1 week old. He had tried to bottle feed her, but realized it was too much for him. So my daugher brought her home & we took turns feeding her round the clock, and watching her grow. We loved her too much to give her back, so we adopted her. She never had any other interaction with other cats, so we think because of this she is very shy & doesn't really like new people or changes at all. She adores me & my husband, and tolerates others. But she is a very sweet girl.

Bio:
Maizy has many different chirps and mews that she can really convey her mood. She loves to sip from the bathroom sink faucet, and every morning has a ritual of brushing & sips that must take place, in a certain order, down to the number of brushstrokes on her tail!

Well hello my friends. I want to say thank you for my gifties for my gotcha day & birthday. Wow, hard to beleive I am 11 years old! I just had a vet visit, and while I am a bit lean, all my blood, urine came out totally normal! I don;t even have any gingivitis. I have never had to have my teeth cleaned. Things are pretty well. Tigger has had some issues recently, that I am sure he will speak about in his diary. I have been enjoying the warm weather, the birdies, and getting spoiled as always. I got a new brushie, and it gets tone of dead hari out & feels so good! I know it has been a while, but honestly, it is just not as fun to come here and not be able to really interact with anyone anymore. But every so often, we will be here. Mom has wanted to look at some other sites, but has been so swamped with work. Just know that we think of all of you often, and with a smile. Thank you for being our friends!

a special goodbye

I am so very sad to say that I have lost my friend Zeke 947834. He is a special pal. He has been fighting kidney failure for a bit, and it just got too much for him, and he didn't feel well anymore, so his Momma Peggy had to let him go to The Rainbow Bridge and be a perfect orangey angel. We luvs you Zekie, and wish you well on your journey over the stars, to be with Tallulah. Watch over us ok?

help the black kitties!

I am also posting this through the other kits pages - sending out a plea to help a whole bunch of black kitties in trouble!

A vacated hoarder's home in the Chicago area was found to have close to 100 kitties in it - looks like most of them are black or tuxies. We all know it is so much harder for black kitties. (I have a special spot in my heart for a little black cat) Tree House Humane Society, Paws Chicago & Chicago Animal Control have been trapping the kitties, as they are boarding up the house today. Now they say they will not board it up until they are positive that there are no kits inside. Tree House has about 70 of the kits, but they are looking for foster help, adoption help, and surely monetary help.
Tree House is a very good place - they are big with TNR & they have a Community Cat placement too. The kitties look to be reasonably healthy as the man that had lived there was trying to feed them even after they foreclosed his house & now it is unhabitable. While I would love to foster, with 4 inside & a colony of 7, I cannot, but I will be sending some extra funds to help. (I am already a Member of Tree House & Paws)
The goal is to keep these lovely house panthers from being put down - as you know many ferals are. That is why they are awesome, cause they will take a feral group & place them in an area for rodent control or for barn cats. They are spaying/neutering/chipping & vaccinating all these babies. Please help if you are able! Here is their website
