Wow my friends , we had a big scare this morning. Mom is still shaking in her shoes.
Mom took me to the vet this morning for my rountine exam. It wound up to be anything but routine. It started out just fine, I was looking quite spiffy in my tie and the staff all fussed over me. The doc came in and took my temperature and checked my teeth, ears and eyes. She was listening to my heart and I started to get a little grumpy with her giving her my low menacing growl. She let go and then got ready to give me my shots. I buried my head in mom's arm and got my shots. The doctor then said she wanted to take me and weigh me. She stepped out with me and then brought me back. While the doctor and my mom were talking, I came over, snuggled at mom's chest, let out a moan and collapsed on the table.
The doc, said, "Oh No" whisked me off the table and took me to the back rooms, yelling "I need help" as she went down the hall. She left Mom in the exam room.
In a few minutes minutes one of the techs came in the room and told mom that I was alright and that the doctor would be back in to see me soon. She got my carrier to bring me back to the exam room.
The doctor had given me oxygen and brought me back around. We are not sure if I passed out, arrested, or threw a clot. With my heart troubles, anyhing is possible. This is the first time anything like this ever happened before.
Mom brought me home and I walked around the house. The doctor said to keep an eye on me. She also said that she would fax my cardiologist to let him know what happened. They even called about a half hour later to check and see if we were okay.
I think I used up one of my lives today and probably took one off Mom too. If you can spare a purr or two I would appreciate it.
Hugs and love,

Thank you everybody. It was quite a scare. I do have an awesome cardiologist since I was just a kitten. Mom is going to get in touch with him tonight. I haven't been on any heart medication.
Some of you may not have known this about me.... I have some detected heart issues, but they have never caused problems before. I have something known as Tetralogy of Fallot, which means I have four heart abnormalities. I have what is know as a VSD (a ventricular septal defect) which is a small whole between right and left ventricles in the heart. I have an enlarged right ventricle, an overiding aorta, and the doctor can't find my pulmonary artery (it is nowhere near where it should be). The doctor also thinks their is a fifth defect, but I can't remember what it is.
Wow that's like the worst nightmare. Purrs all is well.
Hey WeBees, Mom thought about that. Thank goodness it didn't happen in the car or at home. We don't love far from the vet, only a few blocks, but it would have been of heck of a ride.
It happened at the best possible place, if it had to happen at all.
You're not kidding, Skylar!
We don't even want to imagine what might have been the consequences in other circumstances.
Do you think the stress of being at the vet helped make that happen?
Continuing our purrs & hugs!
I'm pretty sure it was stress related. I doubt that it even would have happened at home. I was very agitated this time, not quite sure why. I love people, even strangers. There was a dog barking.....I 'm not used to dogs. Maybe I have white coat syndrome and just get all nervous around doctors?
Sending you POP, positive thoughts, lots of prayers and love.

Oh Skylar! What a scare! I'm purring for you buddy. Please keep us updated on how you're doing. We all hope you're ok. Tell mom to stay strong and keep an eye on you.
whoa that was very scary so sorry to hear this news my friends purrs and prayer going up for you and your continued good health
OMC, that's scary! I guess it happened at the best place possible though. Sending purrs.
Skylar, my sweet Skyster - don't scare me like that. I think it's just possible that your heart isn't quite big enough to process all the love you generate: what you feel yourself and what others feel for you. Hugs, sweetie!
