Arrival Story:
Runt is Baby's sister. Also Mama's daughter. she was the smallest of the litter so we named her "Runt". she is also Feral. We tried to catch Runt and Baby but they were already too wild when they started coming to eat with the rest of the bunch. They were already 3 months old at that time. So they were not adoptable. Therefore we just left them be. But that was after trying to catch them.

Runt is one of the funniest, funnest and cutest cats to play with. her and her siblings are such a joy. We have been working on runt to domesticate her for adoption. First we are starting on the bonding by playing with toys daily. Each day I have been spending 30-40 minutes just playing with runt after feeding the rest of the cats. she looks for the toy the moment she sees me. she is just so adorable. She doesn't like it anymore when I leave. We are almost able to pet her. She never hisses or growls at us, just runs away. But if i have the toy she will run all around my feet. I don't want to put too much pressure on her cause i am unable to take runt home to train her. so she stays in her construction site/home where all the other cats are as well. And she has made the rest of the coloney curious of playtime. So by leaving her there to earn trust...the rest of the cats are learning that it's ok to be near us. Just maybe, we might be able to tame more than one cat. Runt just resently lost her brother "Baby" but seems to be doing well. Runt's sister "Sissy" also enjoys playtime. She watched me play with runt the first week and everyday after she joins in the play time. we didn't start playing with runt until she was 8 months old.

New Baby...

on April 16, 2011 i gave birth to my second litter of kittens. The first litter i had, i didnt know what to do. so my human parents took my kittens one by one but they were so sick, they didnt make it. This last litter i only had one kitten that survived. My human mommy named her babycakes...named after my sister baby who had died long ago. i had help taking care of babycakes from my feral cat family. the colony exists of average 40 cats. I knew that if i let babycakes near my human mommy that she might take her. so i breast fed babycakes for 12 weeks till i could teach babycakes how to be feral and stay away from the humans.
On June 28, 2011 the humans finally trapped me. i was one of the hardest to trap. I was taken to the vet and spayed and got my shots and flea treated. I was hurt during trapping but not too bad. just a little ouchy on my face that may scar. my stomach healed pretty good but the first few weeks the stitches bothered me. i am doing well now.

"Runt" of the litter...

My name is "Runt". I was one of the first feral cats to play with the humans. When some of the other feral cats saw me playing they felt safe to join in. For the longest time the human mommy thought i was a boy because i never had kittens. my sister "sissy" had her first and last litter when she was 8 months old. Well because i am the runt of the litter apparently i took longer to mature...i gave birth to my first litter of kittens 3 weeks ago. i only had to babies but they were big. I didn't exactly know what to do with them..."nelly" one of the older feral mama cats cleaned my kittens for me but since she has been spayed she couldn't help me nurse my babies. one of my babies got in trouble and was caught up in some horrible weeds. the human mommy and daddy had to recue my baby. they took her to another nursing mom at the pet store so that my baby would have a real chance at life. the next day, my second baby manages to wiggle into a dangerous area as well....but this time in was in the street where a huge work truck almost ran it over...but luckily the workers know about the human mommy and daddy caring for us and was driving slow and saw my baby. he picked it up and moved it somewhere safe till the human daddy could get her. this baby was in real bad shape. my baby was severly dehydrated, and it didn't look like there was much hope for it to live. the human daddy rushed and took it to the bathroom to give water, then to pet store for formula and then took it to the human mommy who nursed my baby back to health. the rescue team didn't expect the baby to live past an hour but since my human mommy took such care for baby made the rescue team took it to the same nursing cat that now has both my babies. i was upset for 2 days cause the human mommy tried to get me to care for my baby cause at first no one would help her and she was desperate to save the baby. but in the end...everything turned out wonderful.

Here we go again...

When the human mommy and daddy come late to feed we are all here...including Mr. Stinky and Smelly. Last night we were given a special treat aside from our ususal meal. Mommy brought us boiled Chicken. I love My Chicken!!!! but Mr. Stinky showed after we all ate our regular meal and before we could finish getting our treat. So while the rest of the kitties took off to let Mr. Stinky eat...I didn't! I wanted my Chicken! And Even though Mr. Stinky Stomped his feet at me, I still took what was MINE. I LOVE MY CHICKEN!
The only reason Mommy and daddy come late during the summer to feed us is because it has been too hot around the usual time and most of us don't come to eat. So that is why they have been feeding us later-so they can get a good head count on us kitties. And now we have total of 12 new kittens coming to eat. But mommy is having a problem catching us. She plans on catching "Ghost", Tigger", "Tiger" and "Panther" next week when the shelter is open. But that still leaves the rest of the kittens: Custard, General, Boots, White Sox, Shadow, Smiley, Stripes and Chance. These kittens are anywhere from 5-10 weeks old. But a few still really wild. the first 4 kittens play with the humans and have had human contact. So it will be good and easier to catch. The human mommy is trying to domesticate me...but without taking me home cause she has two other cats at home. and she really isn't suppose to have Any pets at all. She really wants to keep me but since she can't she wants to make me tame to be adopted. I am one of the funnest cats in our group of feral cats. My sister Sissy plays too. But mommy hasn't been able to touch her yet. There is a few new to play of the older feral cats. Mommy is trying to get more of us playing. She is hoping for a MIRACLE TO SAVE AS MANY OF US AS SHE CAN!

The human mommy promised us a new toy...Can't wait till tonights feeding to play with the new toy!
