Arrival Story:
Sophia was adoped from the Alachua County Human Society. I have a nearly 16 yr old male, Tabby, Gizmo; but he has never been a cuddly kitty. So I went specificially looking for the cuddle factor. I had in my mind that I wanted a grey cat, like my late Nicco, but as soon as I walked in the room Sophie (than called Katherine) came right up to me and started rubbing on my legs. She let me pick her up, and she was also comfortable sititng on the lap of my 9-yr-old niece, Lea. So, I guess you could say Sopia picked us!
Bio:
Both Lea and I thought that the name Katherine didn't fit our new kitty. Lea started thinking about it, and then mentioned the name "Sophia" after the main character in her favorite movie, "Mamma Mia". We both agreed Sophie was a good name, and so it stuck! On the other hand, she was called Katherine at the ACHS, and her medical records state that as her name, including her microchip. Plus, all my pets are treated as royalty, so, thus the long name..... Princess Sophia Katherine.
