Daddy makes a big deal out of this as if something's wrong with me, but I just do not purr. I show Mommy and Daddy that I love them and enjoy the attention they give me in other ways.
My sister (littermate) Leia, on the other hand, purrs so loud she could wake the neighborhood. LOL.
The secret's out! Mom never knew exactly what I do (and why) when I open her dresser and armoire drawers. She just finds them open and the clothes either pulled out and on the floor, or pushed over or under the drawer they come from. It's always a nice project for her when she gets home from work to put the bedroom back together. One night, she never went into the bedroom before daddy went to bed and when she went to go to bed hours later in the dark, she ran right into the open drawers and cut up her shins pretty bad.
Yesterday, even though they were home, I still went about my business and when she discovered the drawer in the armoire open, she tried to close it. But the drawer wouldn't close all the way. She kept rearranging the clothes and pushing it in, but it wouldnt' close. I never said a word through all of this -- I just suddenly popped out from behind the drawer as she tried to pull the entire drawer out (figuring I had pushed clothes down behind it) and almost got stuck trying to come through the drawer and out into the room. Boy was she startled! Startled me too when I couldn't fit climbing over the back of the drawer. But she pushed it back in just enough to let me squeeze through and run out of the room.
So now she knows, or thinks she does: I pull the clothes out to sleep either in or behind the drawers....at least some of the time. I'm always on the bed when they come home.
That's what daddy said it looked like with us all curled up in a line on the sleeping next to mommy this weekend. Well, actually, he said Sonny and I were battleships and Pepper was a Cruiser. Salt's a cruiser too, but he was on the other side of mommy and under the covers so you could barely tell he was there.
The only one missing was Leia. I figure she has the same kind of shape as Sonny and I (ie maine coon/norwegian forest cat-ish), only in miniature so she would be a battleship as well. Daddy said "no, she's a destroyer".
