Arrival Story:
George was one of a couple of litters our neighbor's outdoor cat kept having. One day, George decided he was finding himself a new home where he'd get to stay inside and get more love and attention. He climbed up a brick wall to the window ledge and cried and cried and cried. My husband (who was my fiancee at the time) couldn't take the distraction so he opened the door to shoo him away. George leaped onto his chest, so Eddie brought him inside. George promptly curled up next to him and went to sleep. Eddie promptly called me at work and said "bring home kitten food". George has been with us ever since.

George had a good life and left us in October 2009.

Thanks so much for the honor and the good wishes. It was a nice distraction for Mawmee because 2/18 is a sad day for her and Daddy. They were/are both big Dale Earnhardt fans and that is the anniversary of the day he died.

A new tree

This weekend Mawmee and Daddy cut down the dead tree that my body was buried under and replaced it with a pretty, new tree. I could hear them talking about me while they planted it. It's a Hong Kong Orchid and has pretty purple flowers. I hope it grows nice and big and gives Mawmee a nice place to visit me.

I will always be the King....or is that Head Cat?

Happy New Year everyone -- what a way to end the year: I was a Diary pick again last week. Yippee! That's two for me in 10 days. Only Leia did the same. More proof that even from the Bridge I rule our house.

And, actually, I misspoke in last week's diary...Salt was a diary pick as well earlier this fall. So, that just leaves Pepper and Jasmine....
