Two weeks ago my whole life changed!!!
I moved to Purrsville to begin life as the only cat in a home. No more 6 brothers and sisters.
The whole entire place belongs to me!
My first mom rescued me along with my littermates and another cat, probably our dad, from
a parking lot where she worked. This mom has a very big heart and wants to help everycat.
She thought we would all be in good homes within months of our capture. But we were a
feral group and I was the shyest and most skittish. She named me after Hazel Lucy because
I was so shy. And pretty! My first mom fed us and cared for us and gave us a whole big
house to explore but knew that I needed a special kind of attention.
My first mom is the mom of CATSY Angel Princess. Catsy is a legend. Her story had a
huge impact on catsterland. When Catsy left for Heaven, Hazel Lucy's mom cried for
two whole weeks, day and night. Catsy was her catster cousin. She followed Catsy's
family closely and watched our progress. She was worried when I crawled into the
basement ceiling and wouldn't come out for a long time, days and days. This mom and
dad did all they could for each of us. Such big hearts. Such kindness and compassion.
I heard a lot about Hazel Lucy. How she blossomed with patience and unconditional love.
How her mom made no demands and read aloud to her and told her every day how much
she was loved. It was a very sad day in our home when Hazel Lucy went to Heaven. Her
mom had plans to go to a local rescue and find an adult cat who needed her. But then
something wonderful happened, Heaven intervened. Within 48 hours it was set that I would
go live with Hazel Lucy's mom. That is, if I could be coaxed or trapped so the vet could
check me over and give me vaccinations. You can read my diary of April 1st to see how
THAT went! Or didn't! I'd better stay healthy because there is no way HL's mom is getting
ME into any carrier!!
So comes a road trip! Hours and hours! We get to Purrsville and my mom and dad meet
Hazel Lucy's mom. HL's mom has made a tent for me by putting a sheet over the dining
table. The sheet hangs all the way to the floor so I'll feel safe. In the tent are beds and
blankets. On one side of the tent is the food court. On the other side is a pink litter box,
pink in honor of Catsy! I go in there, slinking on my belly and crying. Later I decide I like
the bathtub better. Is there a safer place than a bathroom?
And for a kitty who has been pet only once or twice, I let this new lady pet me all over for
hours! I can't get enough petting! It's wonderful! I love having my tummy and paws rubbed!
So I might start calling this lady mom. She talks soft and low. She moves slowly because
I am extremely skittish. She reads to me. She is reading a book called Homer's Odyssey
(by blind cat Homer) to me. It's a really cool story!
The whole point of this rambling is to say HOW GRATEFUL I am to my first mom for
saving me from the parking lot when I was just a kitten . She saved me and cared for me
for THREE years. She was saving me for my second mom, Hazel Lucy's mom, so that
I could have the special kind of attention I needed.
So today I say "Happy Mother's Day" to both of you!

You are the Purrfect kitty to live in HL's house. Together you can comfort each other & learn to love & trust.
If I could have any mom but mine I would love to live right where you are!
I said it before and I'll say it again . . . Hazel Lucy and her Mom remind us that “mother” isn’t just a noun; it’s also a verb.
Congratulations, Mazie, on finding two wonderful, loving mothers.

Mazie you are so sweet and what a beautiful diary to honor both of your Moms..I know in my heart you will come around and loves your new Mom, she is a special CatMom....we hope both of your Moms had a great CatMom day!
It's amazing what some food & a little love can do with skittish cats! 2 of the strays here,Bent Ear & Mouse, were transformed from fearful ferals into affectionate cats in only a couple of months! The only problem the Dad Guy had with me was keeping me from busting down the door to be adopted by him! Now I'm a finicky house cat!
We are reading about Homer here too!
You're a lucky girl with your two pawsome mommas!
Mom had tears in her eyes while reading your diary. We are so happy that you found a good forever home and you are a very lucky girl to have two wonderful moms.
I love the new color for your page!
You have a food court? That is pawsome! I would love to have a food court!
Bathrooms are good places. I'm glad you like yours. And I'm glad you discovered tummy rubs. They are the best! Do you like combing too? Combing feels grrrrreatzzzzzzzz.... oh, sorry, just thinking about combing lulls me to sleep. Please do yourself a favor and try it! I hear that lady you might decide to call Mom knows how to Furminate, but purrsonally my favorite is a good flea comb like they sell at Superior Pet. I even like to comb my gums!
Welcome to your new home, sweetie! You'll love "Homer's Odyssey"! We did too!
Meowlo Mazie! We are so happy to hear that you are settling in to your new furever home so nicely. You are such a lucky girl to have two mommas that love you so dearly. We hope both of your moms had a wonderfur Mother's Day. Your new momma is a great lady, and she will make you feel comfurtable in your new home. Concatulations on getting such a good furever family!
Hugs and Purrs,
~George~ and Furmily
