Arrival Story:
Matty and Aaron found each other several years back on Rocky Bay, near Gig Harbor, Washington. Her fur was a matted mess, making "Matty" an appropriate name for this loving, yet somewhat paranoid girl. Unable to find an owner, or someone to claim the scared and starving Matty, Aaron took her home to Kirkland, WA, where he lived at the time. Selby the cat, Aaron's original feline love was insanely jealous, and the two old girls still share an uneasy peace, but seem to have accepted each other as non-biological sisters. Matty must have had a bad experience with children early on. When Aaron's young nieces and nephews come over, Matty flees instantly, hiding under a bed.

Bio:
Matty is thought by many to be part Maine Coon, and not simply because of her robust size. Matty doesn't play the so-called "Maine Coon Card" when conversing with other cats, because, in their world, for the most part, it doesn't matter who your parents were. What counts, is personality, and Matty has it in spades.

Life without Selby/Matty the Huntress

It's weird, I know she is not coming back home, but dad says we'll see her again sometime, and that everycat, well every alive thing goes where she went as time goes by. Pops brushed me and Furminated me good today, it was nice, I had some Greenies, the ones in the pink bag taste like the pink fish meat dad sometimes likes that gramps is good at making.

I keep seeing Selb's pillow and expecting her to be there glaring at me, but no, just some wisps of her fur is the only thing there. I like feeling more free to get up on the bed and hang out with dad. Selby was very protective of him, and since I was sometimes mean to her, she held a grudge and would glare at me or hiss if i got too close.

Either way, I'm pretty lonely when dad goes to do his job out of the house. I hope he doesn't get some cat and try to make it my sister or brother. Selby and Me had differences, but there was a peace between us, of some kind. Pops teased me about gettin something called a furret, he said they are stinky weezuls, and have weird long bodies and fangs. He was teasin tho i think. If a weezul came to my room I would attack it without any thought to leaving it alive, because i know how to fight and survive. Aaron told me he respects me abilities, but that I can't go around killing everybody I see, like the chippie I wanted to eat and play with 2 hot-times ago. I brought it up next to my food and messed with it, dad found it, water came out of his eyes and he said I shouldnt uh done that. I hurt that Chipmunk badly, I don't know my own strength. Dad had lots of water in his eyes and took the stick that makes a loud scary noise out of the box its in. He said the Chip shouldn't be made to suffer. I was mad he took my catch away, and scared of the thunder he made with that thing, but he said it was "merssiful" to make the chipmunk have peace, I had no clue what he meant, but he stayed upset about the whole thing for days, though he told me he wasn't mad at me, and i was just doing what catz do outside.

oh well, it has been watery outside, but not as cold on my feet, so i have been smelling the wind and stuff, watching out for Tiger, who has a fort on his mom and dad's porch where he hangs out with Ron, who is his human dad, when Ron is working on his fort.

I don't know when Selby and me will see each other again, but I sorta wanna say sorry for bein a jerk sometimes, and that it's lonely here without her, even tho dad is great and things are warm and theres more food than i even think about when i go and sleep!

He says it's an ess, whatever that it. It means something to do with Sel's name. I think he's crazy, I would never, ever put stuff on my fur that never comes off! He says he wants to put more black marks that remember Selby on that one arm. It looks neat though, and he keeps putting medicine on it to make sure it looks good after the redness goes away....people are weird.
