Arrival Story:
Summer was the very first can that ever owned me.And she was a Brilliant Orangie....and the reason I LOVE orange kitties so much. She was given to me by a friend who thought I should have someone to keep me company since I lived alone. She was a one person kittie and wouldn't tolerate anyone else....except for my boyfriend at the time. She didn't like my roommate's boyfriend and peed on his girlfriend later married and divorced this guy and said she should have listened to Summie. In June, '76, my boyfriend and I loaded up my '74 Gold Duster and with Summie we headed up to Canada and drove across country..ending up in LA before heading back to Columbus. We pitched a tent every night and would sit by the campfire with her on her leash. Later I married another man, who wasn't very fond of animals and when we weren't home of went to bed would put her in the basement. My major regret with Summer Sunshine is that I didn't stay with her when it was her time to cross to the Bridge. Mr. Wiggles, was given to me by my first husband. He was from a litter that belonged to his children and he thought Summer needed a playmate. Wiggs was very timid...didn't like to be around others except for me and my ex. Chivas came to live with us when he was found alone in our neighbor's garage....and since they new I loved kitties they asked if I would take him. After my divorce, Chivie and Wiggie lived with me. Chivas had CRF and after a difficult fight we allowed him to peacefully go to the Bridge....leaving us with just Wigs....On NY's eve day, '94, Wiggle's had just run upstairs and I heard the strangest meeeoooow...I ran up to see and he was on his side....he took his last breath in my arms.....the only thing I can think is that he had a heart attack. I still grieve for these beautiful creatures who have left huge pawprints on my heart and who are responsible for me to open my heart and home to my other furbabies.
