Likes:
Ruckus likes to bunny-thump and wrestle the bed linens, then sprawl-straddle the adjacent sofa back for a nap.

Pet-Peeves:
Pain-related litter box aversion has taught Ruckus creative ways to utilize the box from the outside. Usually this means hanging his butt over the edge; apparently if his feet don't touch the litter, he's not in the litter box.

Favorite Toy:
Ruckus requires regular sessions of vigorous play, and periodically invents new games. No toy is as good as a live mouse.

Favorite Nap Spot:
Ruckus loves to snooze under the dwarf maple in the front yard, in between visits from the flock of birds drawn by the crapapple tree.

Favorite Food:
Ruckus loves his homemade food made with chicken and Sojourner Farms pre-mix.

Skills:
Ruckus' massive haunches make him a strong jumper, so our transoms stay closed. He also loves to retrieve.

Dwells:
indoors

Arrival Story:
Ruckus was brought to family friend who is a vet after he was grossly abused by a 12 year old boy at 4 weeks of age. After he recuperated from his surgeries (intestinal), we brought him to live with us. He promptly developed the worst case of ringworm our vet had ever seen, then FLUTD. He had a blockage when he was less than a year old, and required a "sex change" operation. The surgery was botched, and had to be redone. He scrupulously performs his daily toilette, but we keep his nether regions clipped short so we'll immediately recognize those rare occasions when a hot washcloth is needed.

Bio:
Ruckus is prone to urinary crystals (of every type) and may pee all over the house unless kept on a homemade diet (with occasional cans of a high quality gourmet food, Weruva). He is a handsome, striking - and sizable fellow - and elicits many comments from passersby when he's on his daily supervised outings in our small front yard. A sweet boy who likes close contact, Ruckus summons us when he needs to pee ... even if it's just for an escort. Sometimes mysterious fears of everyday objects will surface, often with comic results (which we only laugh about later, respecting his dignity). Congenial, he accepted the arrival of several females, but let us know when enough was enough.
