   Leave a treat for Cosmo

Shamoo, Moo-moo, precious, Pretty-Pretty-Pretty

Quick Bio:
-pound cat-cat rescue

Cosmo loved snoozing in the sun, watching the birds at the feeders, curling up on mum's lap and getting her belly rubed.

Having to keep those pesky Newfs in line! It was a lot of work pushing around 150 lb dogs!

Favorite Toy:
Cosmo couldn't resist playing with pens and pencils. Forget about writing anything, as soon as she saw a pen she'd leap across the table and roll head over tail to steal it!

Favorite Nap Spot:
Mum's lap, mum's head, mum's shoulder, mum's get the idea. Cosmo loved to curl up with her Mummy.

Favorite Food:

Cosmo was the head honcho around our house and was a very skilled ruler. She fancied herself Queen. Cosmo controlled 5 giant dogs and 3 other cats with the bat of an eye and a flick of her tail.

Arrival Story:
I rescued Cosmo from a shelter that was closing down so had to euthanize all of the animals there. I was in university at the time, and could only afford to adopt one pet and although I had always lived with dogs, I knew that a cat would better suit my busy lifestyle at that time. I headed out to the shelter a few hours before it closed to save one life. Cosmo was the one. The shelter was full of animals, with rows of cages, piled on top of each other. It was very difficult deciding which cat to rescue, and which had to be left behind. Cosmo's cage was in the very back corner, way up high. She was horrified, and had her face buried in the back of the cage. I knew as soon as I saw her, that she was the one. I reached up and pulled her out of her cage, and she nuzzled into me - she was saved, just hours before she would have been euthanized. It took about 2 years of love and patience to help Cosmo overcome her fears, but she blossomed into a happy, confident and down right bossy cat!

Over the years, Cosmo tolerated the introduction of several other four legged critters into her home, although she was never very happy about having to share her Mummy. Cosmo took total control over all of the furry beasts, and when she would enter a room, the dogs would leap off of the furniture to allow her to choose where she wanted to lay. She had an air about her that demanded respect, and the other animals did just that. Cosmo was an adult when I adopted her so I never really knew how old she was. She lived with me for 12 wonderful years before she passed away in my arms, old and gray, but bright eyed right to the end. She is sadly missed.
