Arrival Story:
Beaus died on 14th April. He had a very bad astmha attack. We rushed him to the vets but he had a heart attack on the way, and died at the surgery. We are devistated. Beaus was the most beautiful and special cat and we miss him so very much.

Bio:
BeauBollinger came to live with us as a kitten - we already had his half sister MaraSerendipity. At 15 months old he was diagnosed with very bad asmtha and was having regular attacks. I wasn't happy putting such a young cat on such a high dose of steroids, probably for life. We did our research and found out that some cats would accept a baby inhaler. Our vet didn't think we could get him to accept it but we did. We literally cuddled the inhaler and Beaus for several months and we then t ried putting him in the hospital pen with the inhaler. I even let him see me use it! Eventually he accepted it and this was now 5 years ago. His last attack in the night was 3 years ago. He occasionally gets a cough if there is a change in temp or high pollen and we have to increase the steroids for a few days. He is on 2mg every other day. He seems to have a good quality of life - a very loud purr. He is very gentle and always sleeps on the bed - this goes back to the days when he had attacks in the night and he learnt that if he coughed he could wake female human up but not male human. He is a very special cat! If I am late giving him his inhaler, he will come and get me!
