gotcha!

Today's the anniversary of my "gotcha day" with my last Mom and Dad. One year ago today, a little after 1 p.m., I first set paw in their house. Nothing was the same after that!

Mom was looking through my photos from that first day and reading the first entries in my Catster diary. She can be a big cry baby sometimes, just like Calvin's Mawmee, but today she's doing her best to keep a happy face, remembering how happy all of us were last year when they adopted me, and remembering what a good girl I was that day and every day I was with them. She won't forget the happiness, the smiles and the outright laughter I brought not just to them but to many of their neighbors and friends. Did you know I'm practically a legend in the neighborhood? No one can forget the dinner party when I walked along the top of the dining room wall while they ate!

Mom uploaded to Flickr most of the photos she took of me last March 15th, if you want to see the slideshow of my "gotcha day" photos. You can see how long my claws were that day and how brown the fur on the tops of my paws was because the nastiness in my mouth stained my fur when I groomed. Mom noticed how much I was drooling in those photos, too. I noticed that Mom took some blurry photos. ;)

Although we didn't get to celebrate this first anniversary of my gotcha day together, I'm celebrating up here with Scooter and SooLing. Since Mom and Dad didn't know my birthdate, my gotcha day is the date they're celebrating in remembrance of me.

Being Lola means wishing you celebrate some good memories today!

Happy Gotcha Day, Good Girl! Mommy was thinking about you this week....you know how she loves Siamese Rescue...and that's where she adopted Minka and Purrsia from....Anyway, they had a little boy on there that looked so much like you! He's actually being adopted already! With a face like yours, of course he was adopted fast! We are on our way to look at your photos now! Love, Ava and family!

Rascal takes Lola's paw and dances with his angel furriend around the olde furt home...such a good girl, such a good dancer, like your sisfur before you...such a wonderpur furamily to have shared your love and your touch. Such a good girl, your time here with us was short because your work was complete, now you and Scooter and SooLing have the fun job of watching over us. Being there with a gentle brush of angel wings a soft purr in the breeze when we need you, till time we all meet again across the rainbow bridge.

I can't believe it was only a year ago that you walked in to all of our hearts and lives. You are the sweetest of the sweet, the very bestest GOOD girl we know and not a day goes by that we don't think of you. Some days your memory makes us smile, some days it makes us sad but they always make us miss you very much.

I bet Beepers and Ashlynne are celebrating today as well. Their lives would be very different if you hadn't found your parents first. I'm sure they know how lucky they are.

We're all lucky too. Lucky to have made such a special furriend! Someday I'll be at the Bridge with you, learning how to be the best good girl I can be from the best one of all! Love and purrs to you and your parents on your Gotcha Day!

Love,
Sally Maria

Happy Gotcha Day, Lola! You sure had a pawsome life once you got to your forever home, and you made lots of people happy! We had a fun time sprinkling that angel dust down on your Mom, Dad, Beepers, and Ashylnne today, didn't we?
