Arrival Story:
Kibble is one of the feral cats that came to live in our yard in fall of 2005. The mother bought her 5 kittens to live under our deck. We have been caring for them ever since. All the cats have been neutered through the TNR program at the Humane Society.

Bio:
Kibble was always the boldest of the kittens. She was less afraid and approached me with less caution. I think she could sense that I meant her no harm, even at her young age. She was the first cat I could pet. The other cats have learned to be very trusting by watching her interactions with me. As a result, I am able to pet/groom all of the cats and a couple of them will allow me to pick them up. That is not an easy thing for a feral cat to tolerate. She was also the first cat to come into the house and explore. Now, she spends most of her day in the house with me when I am home. At night she sleeps on the enclosed porch that is set-up with heated houses and beds as it get cold here in the winter. In the warm weather when our porch is opened, she spends much of her day sleeping under the large plants in the garden. She follows me around the garden in the summer as well. That's how she got her nickname "GG" which stands for "garden girl." She is a very sweet cat. When Kibble's mother had the second litter (we could not trap mom before she got pregnant again) Kibble did not like the new cats coming into the group. We had a little orphan cat join our family at that time as well. Several of the cats left. I suppose they were looking for new territory. Kibble was one of those cats. I was heart broken when she left. So the second winter of her life, she survived the cold and snow on her own. I did see her from time to time so I knew she was doing OK. Then one day in March, near winter's end, she came to the house. By this time, my husband and I had added heated cathouses to our porch. I think she found out what she had been missing and since that day, she has never left. I know she loves me, but I think the radiator comes first! She loves to sleep on it in her little bed, by the front window!
