indoors Arrival Story: Shiloh was in a backyard semiferal colony I have been helping trap and spay and neuter...her and her twin brother were born in November. They are much friendlier than any of the others in the colony. While trying to trap their mother (pregnant again we fear) the homeowners/colony caretakers said that they had not seen the girl for 3 or 4 days and were worried, but while trapping we spotted her drag herself into the shed. We were there till probably 10 at night coaxing and cajoling her till we were finally able to get her and take her to the vet the next day. Her hip/pelvis on the left back is broken, as if she were kicked or possibly hit a glancing blow by a car. She is too young for surgery, the only thing to do is give it 6 to 8 weeks to heal and re-xray and re-evaluate at that point. She doesn't appear to be in pain (they sent home meds for 7 days to make sure) the hip is totally out of the socket so there is no bone on bone. She has a purrr that won't quit and follows you around like a puppy. She is in the masterbath for now...don't want her to have too much room to get into mischief. Her prognosis is very good at this point. Bio: I am a love bug who loves to snuggle and nuzzle...I don't like being by myself but I am also not too sure of these kits that live here, some of them actually hiss at me! Look at this face...would you hiss! Though Sunshine did give me a bath the first night I was here...so I think she likes me..though they say she is lost now...I purr for her to come back...I liked her.. My "Big" Sisfur
I just can't believe it! (thanks Ticia for having your momkatt let mom know). I am cat of the day, woohoo....happy happy kitty dance...*spins and twirls and gets sidetracked chasing tail* MOL
Well it seems my adoptive family had come back to NC to visit the grandma in mid June and brought me and Sissy with them.....and I disappeared out a open door, but they did not have the heart to tell mom. Well mom was outside and heard a meow, and Pooh and Sunny were with her on the porch and they came running and low and behold I was under the old toronado that is waiting to be restored beside the shop. At first I was nervous and started to run, but then mom called me softly and talked to me and I remembered her and came to her and she took me in and gave me nummy nummy food (I am quite skinny now, not a diet I would suggest ladies). I purrred and stretched out on the bed and talked and talked and all night I kept coming up on the bed to make sure it was real and mom was there and I am HOME!!!! (mom called the number for the lady and she was so happy I found my way back to my first home and she was sorry she did not let them know I got out and all so they could have looked for me, but happy ending .. home sweet home)
See I went missing....some workers were in the house and well, they were in and out and in and out and I thought well I might explore...but it is REALLY big out there, and I got disoriented and then scared and ended up almost a mile from home at a farmhouse, the lady that lived there had relatives visiting from Virginia..and they put food out and after about 3 days of cautious nibbling I walked inside, and they have a young twofer who is 12 who is really nice and she cuddled me and fed me and let me sleep with her...they did not know about my other home...so when they left to go back to Virginia they took me with them...the grandmother saw one of my flyers at a local store and called mom and mom emailed photos...they have scheduled a vet appointment on Wednesday to check my hip and make sure I am ok...and if everything matches up.....I will not only be found but have a great adoptive family and I did not think I would ever get adopted cause of my hip...more on Wednesday, paws crossed!
