Thanks Serena!! I'm enjoying my honor!
Way to go TT!! DDP!
Uno says TT is obviously her soulmate brother! His main profile pic is so similar to hers (she had just eaten a bite of her favorite treat, cheese, when I snapped that photo and caught her licking her chops!)
Lefty says although he's black and she's white, TT is HER soulmate brother because like her, TT still has his left eye. Lefty is totally blind in her left eye but like TT, since her eye wasn't causing her any discomfort, it didn't have to be removed. She only has partial vision in her right eye.
Righty says that TT is her mirror image twin because he's black and she's white and he has a damaged left eye and she has a damaged right eye but also has partial vision in her right eye.
One thing that amazed my best friend when Righty, Lefty, two littermates of Righty & Lefty, and Uno and her littermate were brought to her when they were first found, was that the kittens damaged eyes were due to trauma caused by sharp objects & that these kittens DIDN'T have any herpes virus or upper resp or any problems except fleas.
That herpes virus is a wicked disease, most kittens get it, even kittens kept in the very best of situations. I used to manage a cattery while the owner was away at cat shows and she had a separate nursery room where her females were caged in separate cages to give birth and raise their kittens, this room was built at the opposite end of her house from her main cattery, that room was sanitized, had exhaust fans, had a humidifier, had automatic aerosol air sanitizer and deodorizers that misted the room every 15 minutes, and most of her kittens still would get the herpes virus in their eyes and had to be treated.
That herpes virus is awful to deal with, stubborn to treat, and even with aggressive treatment started soon as symptoms appeared, I've had kittens who still ended up with ulceration and consequent corneal scarring from it. Years ago one rescue kitten I had who arrived with severe herpes virus and ulceration of both eyes, ended up blind from it, as far as the vet could tell, he had no vision at all. That cat lived a good long happy life in spite of being blind.
It makes me so mad when people tell me that its cruel not to euthanize these cats, or tell me they would never make a cat suffer having to live with a disability or "disfigurement" or tell me that if something happened to their cat to disable the cat they would euthanize the cat! It especially makes me mad when people show this attitude toward cats who are normal in every way except for having been ear-tipped!
Righty, Lefty, Uno and my other cats with disabilities all say TT, you go right on living a full happy active life and help show the world that cats with disabilities and cats whose physical appearance isn't totally normal are every bit as good and as worthy to be allowed to live and deserve to have good owners, good happy loving indoor homes, and feline and human families who care about them!
TT who says mew arent a dreamboat ?? Mew look pretty DREAMY to me! Well....except for that bread pic! What was mom thinking? *giggles Hen*
Angel purrs & ((hugs)) to one dreamy mankat,
