I got a nice little Power of the Paw today to help me with my asthma~ it was from "anonymous"! That was really nice of anonymous! So I thought I would update you on my asthma.
My last attack was actually just a few days ago on 10-February. Before that, my last attack was the end of December. They are over quickly and I am back to myself.
Mommy started writing down all the details every time I had an attack, and 2 things are pretty consistent:
1) My attacks are almost always in the morning right after breakfast.
2) I throw up my breakfast just before my attack.
I am going to the vet on 10-March for my yearly checkup and Mommy will ask the vet for her opinion. Because my asthma is mild, I am not on any medications~ Mommy is just keeping an eye on me.
I can't wait to see what the vet says about my teeth~ we have been brushing them every day since my dental last year! I bet she is gonna be impressed!
Awww, T...we're purring. Really purring. It so good that your meowm knows the symptoms, though, and can guesstimate when it's going to happen.
Clean toofies are furry important so I'm sure the vet will be very happy with that. So sorry you're still having attacks. Tell them to go away and leave TT alone!
Thanks guys!! Mommy is glad that my attacks don't seem to be getting worse at this point~ it would be nice if they would just go away!! Now Tasha on the other hand, she won't let Mommy brush her toofies~ let's see what the vet says to her!
Not sure what the weather is like in your area, but we are having an "early spring" here. Spring=asthma attacks for my brofur and perhaps it was the impetus for your attack as well.
Hi Nikolai! It is still pretty cold here~ not above freezing today in RI, and windy cold. Mom is worried that as spring approaches my attacks may increase. I hope not.
Purring that your asthma doesn't get any worse and stays away! Bet those toofies are purrly white too!
Hugs and purrs,
Simon & Reuben(an angel)
Tash, are you hijacking your brofur's diary again? MOL!
Sending purrs to you TT! Hope your vet visit goes well!
Hugs & Purrs,
I also have mild asthma. Mine started around the time yours did, I think - can't remember exactly, but I remember you wrote about in you diary last spring/summer and I had just gone to the vet about coughing and got diagnosed with mild asthma. I haven't any coughing until the last couple weeks when Mom noticed me coughing again. Mom wonders if it has anything to do with us not getting any fresh air in the winter?? Since I hadn't been coughing, Mom thought mine might have been a flukey seasonal thing, but now she thinks it will probably flare-up from time to time. Hopefully it doesn't get worse - I don't want steroids....That's so great that your pawrents are brushing your teeth - impressive! Hope your teethies look good. Sending you lots of purrs for your asthma.
Your Mom is like a detective or something. She's a super Asthma Investigator ! (Hey, if Tasha has asthma too, then maybe she's allergic to you ;) MoL
Sorry that your attacks are preceded by your losing your breakfast.
I bet you're going to get an A+ on your dental exam (Tasha, on the other paw, we should maybe start calling "Tartar")
Thanks for the purrs Simon & Riley!
Coop~ Tash has to get involved with EVERYTHING!!
Nadia~ Miss COTD!! I don't want steroids either if I can avoid them. I will purr that your asthma leaves you alone!
Nuk~ I'm gonna start calling Tasha "Tartar" now!! She gets away with not having her teeth brushed just cuz she is a brat! No fair!
TT, hope your asthma gets better instead of worse, or .. just disappears for good! Way to go on brushing your toofies. Mommy hasn't been able to tackle that with us yet. I bet your vet will be impressed. Our annual Vet appt is March 19, soon after yours.
Hi to Tasha (aka tartar) too!
Oh TT I am furry happy to hear this, we will be purring that you keep getting better and stronger. Asthma is the pits but we are happy to hear your is mild.
HI TT I have asthma it took a long time for Mom to find a vet that would take the time to keep working at finding out why I was coughing, sneezing and having a hard time breathing...it was a year ago that I was diagnosed, I now have an inhaler with a kitty mask that Mom puts on my face when I have an attack. It took time to get used to that thing on my face but I now know it is to help me...and it does....Mom picked the inhaler instead of the pills..unfortunately the inhaler is human they don't make for pets so it is expensive, but Mom says it is worth it...our insurance doesn't cover human meds for animals...
Well I hope you don't have a lot of attacks and you well be Ok. sendiing you purrs and we hope you will be OK..

Zeke~ I'm sorry that you have asthma too! Mom has checked into the inhalers, and they do seem like the way to go! Mom had read somewhere that you can buy the inhaler from Canada cheaper? Purrin for you!
Miss Kally~ Yes! We still get out Lysine chews every day! Us good kitties let our Mommies brush our teeth!
We are purring for you TT!
Love, Eddy & Family
