When we don't let him out.
Favorite Nap Spot:
indoors and outdoors
I owned a Pet Sitting business and was taking care of a caterie (a breader's cats). Those cats were all Chartreuses, gorgeous cats. However, one of the house cat, was Gordie, the Japanese Bobtail. Everyday, when I came to clean the cages and feed all the cats, Gordie followed me around. I nicknamed him my little helper. He got along with all the cats and was just a lovey-dovey cat. It would almost hurt me to say my good-byes to him at the end of my rounds. He was such a cutie and so affectionate to boot. Anyway, a year or so down the road, the owner of the caterie became ill and had a very aggressive form of cancer. She passed away very quickly. Once she was gone, her husband decided he didn't want to go on with the business, so we slowly placed all the cats in good homes, but Gordie remained. Eventually, his owner said o me that Gordie was obviously in love with me, would I want to take him home. I had always been a dog person and although I loved cats, I had never owned one. I thought about it, and decided I could not live without this little fellow. I took him hoe to see how my two Dalmatians would respond and they didn't seem to mind too much. In addition, my husband also fell in love with Gordie. He enjoyed coming home after a hard day at work to a calm and loving animal instead of the two rambunctious dalmatians. So, Gordie stayed with us. He does act like a dog sometimes. If you say come, he comes. He clearly understands some basic commands. Also, when I would walk the two dalmatians around the neighborhood (gated community without many cars), he just follows us. What is also funny is that he's white with black spots, so he actually matches the dalmatians. I looks like it was all planned. Anyway, we love him. He's smart and he's hilarious. He is the biggest lover boy you ever met. This is not an independant cat who likes to be petted when it feels lke it... this guy wants petting 24/7. He lets us manipulate him anyway we want. Very gentle soul.
Gordie is purebreed and I was told by his original owner that he won many competition. They used to show him. I don't know where he came from. I don't even know his real age. I made up his birthday. I only know approximately how old he is. I do believe he was a champ, because he does let you brush him, clean his ears, eyes, etc... without any fuss at all. He's very calm, docile and obediant.

Well, I used one of my 9 lives last night. After dinner, I went out for my evening rounds of the neighborhood, but some idiots ran me over. I am lucky to be alive. I was very shook up, so i didn't make it back to the house. My mom was worried, but she went to bed thinking I'd be back soon. In the morning, she was surprised I was not back yet. This is very unusual. She got more worried. Seeing her from a distance gave me courage to drag myself home. I just made it to the arage and when she saw me, she was so scared. I was all mangled up. She took me to the doctor. They Xrayed me and I was ok. I didn't have any broken bones or injured organs. My face is all scratched up, but I will make it. I am just glad to be back home in the arms of my loving mom.
