A doggy???

Oh my...don't I feel silly. I haven't written in my diary since January???

Well, I feel great! No more egghead or sneezes! Since January...meowmy got a great job and we moved into a new apartment! I miss the Florida room at grandmeow's house but we have lots of windows to sit in and we have our own porch!

We are only allowed to have 2 pets at our new home. But shhhhhh...meowmy only told them we had 1 (to save a little $). On May 26, meowmy came home with a doggy. Meowmy works for a charity and one of the volunteers found this doggy on her way in for her shift. The doggy is a girl and is a Jack Russell. That doesn't make sense to me...but hey that's what meowmy says. The volunteer found the doggy running towards a very busy road so she called the doggy and the doggy followed her in to the office! Meowmy called a vet nearby that she had been in contact with regarding the oil spill. She told them we found a doggy and wanted to see if she had a chip. I don't know what food has to do with any of this. The doggy had a chip (She didn't share with me!) but the chip wasn't registered to anyone. It was registered to the humane society. So meowmy called them and they didn't have records on the doggy. It was towards the end of the day so meowmy brought her here. Over the next few days...meowmy tried very hard to find the owner. She put up signs, a pet amber alert, and a pet 911. She also contacted animal control. She thought someone would claim her because she is such a sweet girl. Anyway....no one claimed her. The mailman comes into meowmy's office to deliver the mail and he asked to see a picture of the doggy. He saw our signs. He said that he knew who she belonged to! But it wasn't good news. The lady moved and he said that he was pretty sure that she left the doggy behind. He said the day she moved was the day we found her and she lived in the apartment building across the street from meowmy's office...so she wasn't gone fur very long. Meowmy got very mad about this. How could someone do that??? Meowmy tried to get her dad, the vet tech, or her best friend to take her but her friends doggy didn't like her. By now, we got used to her (and so did meowmy). Meowmy and everyone at the office thinks that she was meant to be with us. So meowmy took her to our vet and she is healthy and happy! Meowmy named her Molly. Molly is about 5 years old. Everyone at work asks about her. And get this...meowmy can bring her to work! No fair! Maybe meowmy doesn't bring me to work because there are too many cords for me to chew there. So, that's the scoop on my new sisfur. Meowmy says NO more! Molly and I get along great! Molly lets me lick her face. She likes to chase Jakey around which makes me laugh!

Pete and I are official!

Yup! It's true! Pete asked me to be his girlfriend on Thursday at the Wrecked Room in the Black Cats Crossing Our Path group. we were celebrating my good news about my x-rays and he gave me pearl earrings! They are soooooo purrrrty! We had a lovely dinner the other night to celebrate. It sure has been a great week fur me! Pete and I (Jakey too) are going to be in Julius and Little Emma's wedding too!

Great news! I'm just an egghead!!!!!!

I am home! The doc lady called at noon and said she wanted to send my pictures to a radiologist. Meowmy got really scared then. I think they just wanted my pictures too. They took 3 pictures and there is no sign of fungus...or anything else! It's just how I am! Radiology suggested doing....get this...a CAT scan MOL to be extra sure but my doc said it wasn't necessary. I won't have to do that unless I get another nasty cold with projectile sneezes again. Now they have a baseline to use in the future if needed. I even got a mani and pedi while I was there!

I want to thank all of you fur sending me your healing thoughts and POP. I just knew that it would work! I really did! I am so lucky that you all are my furrrriends. I could not have done this with you all.

Pictures tomorrow

Meowmy says that I get head shots tomorrow. Does that mean I'm a model?! Meowmy told me that I can't eat after midnight tonight. What?! Then she is taken me to the vet lady....again. She told me that I have to take a nap and then they will take my pictures. I am so pretty when I am sleeping MOL. Then we will find out if there is a fungus in my head or I just have a funny shaped head. I don't know what they are talking about. So keep me in your purrrayers that I don't have a fungus. It's awfully expensive to treat that and meowmy is still looking fur a job. I'll keep you all updated...and hopefully it will be good news!

V-E-T visit

Hi my furrrriends!

Thank you all for the POTP....please keep it coming. Meowmy is still trying to figure out if my visit was good or bad today. Meowmy noticed a little red bump on my lip when she was giving me my pills. She told the doc about it and she said that she is pretty sure it is a rodent ulcer. I am a dainty girl and I don't chase after the real mice so I don't know what she is talking about! The doc said that it is an allergic reaction to something but we aren't sure what it is. We think it may be food related but it's hard to tell because meowmy is trying to get me off the dry crunchies that I like and make me eat mush! The doc lady gave meowmy a pat on the back for getting me to eat the wet because she can't even get her own kitties to eat it. They had to take my blood...and they didn't even give it back. The did a CBC to confirm that it is an ulcer. They said that meowmy caught in early! Yay meowmy! They gave me shot to make it go away and they said that should take care of it. Then I had a routine shot that they didn't give me last time. I was poked and proded...ugh! The doc asked the other doc to look at my head and he noticed my egghead too. They really can't tell if it was how I was born or if there is a fungus or something else. My CBC results will come back tomorrow and the doc lady will call meowmy and talk with her on whether or not I have to have pictures taken of my pretty head. They are leaning in the direction of having it done anyway just to be on the safe side. They probably will because everyone loves taking my pictures! And I get to take a good nap for it too. I go for another recheck in 2 weeks to check on the ulcer and to possible schedule my portraits. I'm not out of the clear yet so please keep my in your purrrayers.

Oh....the doc lady says I have some Siamese in me by the way I was yelling at her. I didn't mean to yell but it did NOT feel good.

I'm back!

Hi everyfur!

I just wanted to let you all know that the special peeeeyoooter cord that meowmy had to order because I chewed the other one has arrived! This means I am able to get on Catster everyday now and I don't have to go to the library to use the peeyoooter. I am glad to be back. I have missed you all. Thank you all for the lovely Christmas cards and the well wishes. My stuffy nose is gone! I have to go to the vet tomorrow for a recheck and to see what's going on with my egghead. I will let you all know how that goes. Happy Holidays!

I got a cold ;(

Hello my furrriends!

I haven't been on Catster as much for a few reasons. 1- I chewed a peeeeyooooter cord that meowmy has to specially order on ebay. We can't buy it at the store. I won't get it for at least another week. See....meowmy was on vacation without me and I chewed the cord to let her know that she can't go without me. Another reason is that I have a bad cold and the doctor thinks it may be fungus. Yucky! I have had a cold for a little while now and meowmy thought it would go away on its own. Sometimes they do but not this one. I have had a stuffy nose and meowmy could hear me breathing heavy. So she took me to Jakey's vet and she is my vet now! Meowmy likes her because they really do care about us. Meowmy used to think my vet at our old home was great but then she realized that he was not the best one fur us. So meowmy took me in for my annual exam one month early because of the cold. The doctor noticed right away that my head is assymetical. What?! I have a little bump above my right eye that is not really that noticeable. Well...it is now since the doc pointed it out MOL. Meowmy and my other vet never noticed it. That's why we like this vet. She really knows her stuff. Well, the vet said that usually when she sees this it means that it is a fungal infection. That does not sound good. The vet put me on 2 weeks of antibiotics (meowmy is happy that she has a pill gun!) and liquid lysine that she puts in my food in the morning. I am starting to catch on to that though MOL. I am going back to the vet on the 22 for a recheck. Then the vet will decide if I need x-rays to see if it is fungus or if I just have an egghead. Don't tell Jakey that...I will never hear the end of it MOL. If I get x-rays I have to take a nap for a little while but that's okay because I'm good at that! And Morticia and Pete are gonna ride down in the Aston and hold my paws. I love them! The doc also said that sometimes when we are born our momcats crunch on our heads to pull us out. So cross your paws that that is the case. The doc said fungus can be very hard to treat. I seem to get a little better ever day but I am still snotty (not bratty). I have been really nice to meowmy because I know she is trying to make me feel better. I snuggle with her and give her lots of kisses.
A lot of my furrrriends already know this but I just wanted to let everyfur know why we aren't on as much. Love you all (especially Pete!)

Happy Veteran's Day!

Happy Veteran's Day to all of those who have served and are serving our country. This country would not be what it is without the love and dedication of our vets. We will be celebrating with our grandpaw! Grandpaw is meowmy's dad. He served in the Vietnam war and was awarded a purple heart. He served in the Marines and we could not be prouder of him. He takes good care of us when meowmy goes away. Every time he comes over he plays with me and gives me lots of attention and treats. So I really like him MOL. Meowmy is going to take Grandpaw to lunch today. One of the local restaurant's is giving Vet's (not the doctor MOL) free lunch! And it is one of their favorite places to go!

I'd also like to say a big THANK YOU to those who vork at the VA. Grandpaw goes there and because of his purple heart it barely costs him a dime. They take such good care of him and he loves the quality of care and respect he receives there. Grandpaw and meowmy like it there so much that meowmy is hoping to somehow get a job there. It is very hard though.

So, hug and give headbonks to a vet today! They deserve it and so much more. YAY for Grandpaw!

National Cat Day

Whoever came up with this idea is a genius! Meowmy let me come sleep with her this morning...so it already started out as a good day! Then I got to cat nap and sun in the Florida room. Meowmy gave me some turkey baby food as a treat....I love that stuff....but I'm no baby. Jake is the baby thank you very much! Tonight meowmy said I get extra play time with her! Lately I've been playing with the little furry mice that make rattling noises. I like to bunny kick them. I think meowmy is going to give us extra treats and maybe even a new toy! Yipppeee! If National Cat Day is this much fun fur us....just think how spoiled I'm gonna be on Christmas MOL!
