Arrival Story:
I was looking for a cat since I moved to Richmond. On the CARE website I was struck by his name, Houdini. I went by to the cat stand and there he was, sleeping his days away. He wasn't very personable at first since he has been in a foster home for nearly a year I guess he thought he was gonna be there forever so he had given up trying to impress people already. Anyway, I alreay had my mind set on this big, sleepy cat, and on Feb 29, 2004 he came home with me. I later found out that Dini was one of 24 cats owned by some woman in this area. One day the previous owner just left town and left all her cats at home unattended. I don't know how long she was gone but by the time the rescue squad got there 17 cats were in such bad shape they had to be put to sleep. Houdini was one of the 7 who survived. It took him a while to finally open up. From a shy, quiet cat who always hid under the bed or in the bathtub, now he is very sweet and friendly with people and happy as he can be. I really can't imagine my life without him now.

Auntie Candice introduced us to Catster.

Auntie Candice is mommy's friend. She lives out in California. She said she saw Catster.com on TV and thought about me. I only met her once and must've made such an impression on her, hehehe... Anyway, yesterday was Auntie Candice's Birthday so "Happy Birthday to you, my favorite Auntie!".

So here we are. I am really nervous since I'm new here at Catster. This must be what it feels like first day at school... This is tough... There were good-looking cats everywhere it's intimidating! I hope I get to hang out with some cool gangs. I consider myself pretty cool, too. Ahem! Just check me out!

Ok, my mommy put up my sleepy pose as my primary photo... hmm.. I'm not so sure about this but she kept saying "just wait... your sleeping pose works everytime. Believe me. Somebody's gonna want to be your friend." Alright, alright... but I still think my hunky pose might be better...

Arrgh! This is so nerve-racking.... Will I make any friends?

(Second entry -- about 5 hours later)

I have friends! I have a lot of friends! Shelby&Abby (they live in Canada); Riley (he's so cool we have similar background!)& Tigger; Eustace, Cheese, and Sme (they thought I was handsome); Buddie, Mookie, McKenna, Ricki, and Angel (one big family - they thought I was cute!). I'm so happy I get to be their friend. I'll send them greeting messages, every one of them! Ok... mommy will when she gets to it. But she knows this is VERY important to me so she DEFINITELY will help me write to them. I want to get to know all my friends!

I'm so happy I'll sleep with a big grin on my face tonight, hehehe... Mommy was right. Sleeping pose works every time.
