Believe it or not, I' m walking on air...

I never thought I could feel so good-0d-od!! On Friday, my meowmy stayed home from work mumbling sadly that Velvet-nemesis was being picked up by her dad who had returned from Florida. As the weeks passed, I have been getting more unhappy as Velvet-nemesis has become more and more possessive of MY meowmy. She had actually taken to sleeping sprawled over meowmy's head! I've been keeping a close supervisory eye on her from the dresser to make sure she didn't try and pull meowmy's hair or otherwise disturb my meowmy but this has been really cutting into my sleep. But it's over...for now. Around noon on Friday Velvet-nemesis was placed in a carrier and carted out the door...I tried hard not to giggle...I tried so hard. But once she was out the door I did windsprints. I ran from the coach to the catstand, down the hall to the bed to the catstand, on the coach. Windsprints. I am so happy. Peace. Quiet. Love of meowmy. My meowmy.

Invaded!

There's a furry invader in the house and she is slowly but surely causing me to lose my mind. My guardian refers to this invader cat as "Velvet," I think of her as "The Demon Child." I try to sleep --she's right there, I walk down the hallway, there she is again, I approach the food bowl --yes once again she's just there and there is no end in sight.

Velvet seems to think she can intimidate me by hissing and growling . Now that's just not going to happen. It's beneath my dignity to respond to this type of behavior, so usually I just wave Ms. Demon away with a "paw" but it does wear on one. Sigh.

My brother Mercury, who unfortunately has a weakness for a well-turned tail, seems to have really warmed to the furry Demon-Child. They were running around the house playing last night. Traitor I say! Traitor! I thought family was the most important thing, looks like I was misinformed.

My guardian says this "Demon Child" will be here for two more very long weeks before going back to her homeplace. Whoa is me. My guardian says Velvet has many positive qualities..but I think she just needs to grow up. I think I will go get my catdancer and show the Ms. Velvet how a real female feline puts herself through her paces... Hey Demon Child, whose got the moves now!.....
