Arrival Story:
Tigger is my husband's cat from childhood, he was kicked out of the house next door because he was "too loud". To get rid of him they threw cans of food at this little orange kitty and literally kicked him. He was living on the streets and wandered next door, where he met who would become his Dad & best friend~ the rest is history. Tigger and his Dad have been best pals since his Dad was in the fifth grade and Tigger was a young tom. They grew up together, went through high school and college together and had a very special bond between the two of them for over 16 years. Tiggy and I met through his Dad and he grew to love me greatly - and I count myself lucky for that. He was the smartest cat I have EVER met, the SOFTEST kitty I have ever touched, the KINDEST animal ever- he let us hug him like a Teddy Bear (hence the name Titty Bear). When we were sick, he wouldn't leave our side (hence the name Nurse Tigger). He would keep me warm on the cold nights, keep me company while his Dad studied- he truly was our son, a human child that lived in a furry cat suit.

Tigger was lost to us April 3, 2004 in an unexpexted tragedy. He was outside because he hated to do a "number 2" inside- ever. He was out there and we believe that he was protecting his girlfriend (a stray black kitty we call Jasmine) from a pack of wild dogs led by a very mean pitt-bull (we found Jasmine hiding unde the house that morning). Two of them cornered Tiggy on the porch, when I heard him growl (that growl he does when he is in a fight) I jumped up from the couch...but it was too late. His Dad ran 1/2 mile in bare feet to try and catch the dogs, but could not and they ran off with him in the lead dogs mouth. We lost our special soft Orange Man that day.

Just thinking of your white soft fluffy neck, your orange candy cane striped tail, how good you always smelled and how clean you were, how you would drool on my pillow at night, how you would come running from where ever you were at outside when we called you, how you loved your chickie, how you liked to sleep under the covers on a pillow, how LOUD you were especially when you wanted to go out, all the chippie heads you would leave and squirrel tails you laid on the porch mat, how you would lay with me in the summers on the deck and read, how you would wash the car with your Daddy, how you loved to sleep outside on the Cutlass and all the little Titter prints you would leave on my windshield when you would nap on my car.

Sunday is one year that you will be gone, still it hurts to not have you here. I love you very much- my orange soft special man!

I used to sing you this song (that I made up obviously) and we would dance around the living room:

"Oh I love my Titter....because he's soft and orange....I love my Tig-eh- ger... so much more than the moon...because he's soft and orange"

and remember this one, this is the one your daddy made up for you:

"how much is that Titty in the window...meow meow...I do hope that's Tiggie's for sale meow meow"

I know you are sleeping in the sun every day and chasing all those little furry critters over the rainbow.
