Orange & White Tabby

Sleeping in a shady spot; singing (la-la-la); getting love from his dadda; reading about Winston, his hero.

When momma makes him stay on the deck, rather than wander in the yard; when his little brother Fosse bothers him.

Favorite Toy:
The Cookie Monster Head.

Favorite Nap Spot:
On top of the red throw on the bed in Elsa's room.

Favorite Food:
His old kibble (we had to put him on a new diet he's not too thrilled with).

He can catch a ball in his paw and will play fetch when he feels like it.

Arrival Story:
We got Agador from my brother-in-law and his wife. Agador is the son of two of their cats, Max and Jessie.

Agador is a Hemmingway (i.e., he's polydactyl).

I'm Agador's mom, writing on his behalf today. Yesterday, we discovered that Agador had very advanced lymphoma. Because the doctor was unsure that he would recover from surgery, and because my husband — who works with some medically fragile kids — knows what sepsis does to one, we opted to euthanize him.

Agador was a sweet boy. He was the founder of several societies, including The Society for Putting Oneself on Top of Other Things and the Society of Hanging One's Head Off of Things. His idol was Winston, because Winston was famous. He was the son of Jessie and Max, both deceased. He leaves behind several siblings, we believe, including Hobbs, of Richmond. He would have been 11 next month.

Agador was a true Cat, in all he did. And though we can't claim to have given him his Jellicle name, we like to think we came pretty close. Like Hank Azaria's character in The Birdcage, Agador was resourceful (it's aspirin with the "a" and the "s" scratched off) and honest ("you don't have to be such a b***ch to everybody"). He loved his Dadda with all his heart, and his Momma, sometimes.

We loved him. We miss him. We hope we did right by him. He joins his sister Elsa, and leaves behind his brother, Fosse, who will miss vexing him and eating his food.

Dadda got a call from my new doctorb today, Dr. Anders, who is going to give me my biopsy tomorrow. She seems very nice and went to The Ohio State University, which means she must be good at footballs. They will biopsy my liver, my small intestine and a swollen lymph node and I will probably have to stay over night, which is very sad, because I will miss my Dadda.

I am still sneezing, although Dr Heflin gave me some medicine for my eye.

In other news, I have discovered the Winston-san, the Japanese version of Winston. I wonder if my blogs will ever be as famous as his.

My blood work showed a normal level of white blood cells, so they aren't sure why my liver seems to be inflamed. Dadda and momma have decided to get me a biopsy, which I hope is some kind of two-tiered cake.

I other news, I have developed a sneezing habit as of this morning. Not sure where that comes from. If it doesn't go away by Monday, momma is going to call the doctorb to be sure it doesn't interfere with my treatment. I'm still a very sweet cat and like waking my dadda up in the morning. Thank you to Michelle, Bud, Chani, Buddie and the other humans and kitteh that have sent good wishes my way.

P.S. Momma says I should stop calling it the doctorb, as the "b" is no longer for "bargain."
