Looking cute and pretty :)
Being picked up; being interrupting when I'm speaking (err..wait, I think I got that backwards- I'm the one that interrupts ..oh well!)
Favorite Nap Spot:
The highest perch on my cat tree
Fancy Feast (any chicken variety)
I twirl and jump very high when Mommy waves my feather wand! Maybe someday I'll join the circus :)
So, my Mommy had always wanted a cat when she was a little girl, but her mother (my grandma) has allergies. Now that Mommy has been living in her own place for awhile, she thought, "what a great companion a kitty cat would be!" So, she decided to start reading up on kitty care (catster's Cat Manual was a big help!) and looking at different shelters and rescue groups. She was looking for some very specific characteristics though: for instance, my new brother and sister are bunny rabbits, so Mommy wanted a kitty that would not be a predator to them (Actually, I think THEY are the ones who are predators! Mommy tells me that they're just hopping over to say hello and that I shouldn't be such a scaredy cat. I don't know..I still think they look kinda sketchy- such big ears and no real tail, except for a little cottonball-looking-thing...Still not sure if I can trust them..) .................................. ........................Anyway..ba ck to the story...
After perusing through dozens of Petfinder ads and meeting a few cats, Mommy came across my ad and it was love at first sight! She spent 1-2 hours on the phone with my foster mommy so she could determine whether this would be the right furever home for me.
...Before I continue, I should fill you in on how my foster mommy and I met............................... .................................. ....
My foster mother took me in after my 9 brothers and sisters and I were abandoned outside a shelter in Long Island. We all had ear mites, so we each had to be isolated during treatment. I was only about 2 months old at the time and I was very scared and shy. It was hard for me to trust humans and I didn't like being picked up, but my foster mommy had to so she could give me my medicine. I realized she was giving me medicine because she cared about me, and even though I still didn't like my medicine, she earned my love and trust.
...5 months later, with a clean bill of health, I was off to my furever home...
January 12, 2009- I arrive in this weird, unfamiliar place, with this stranger (Mommy) cooing over how cute I was (as if I didn't know that already!). I kept crying, "where am I?? what's going on here??" I found several places to hide, but then at night, I cried when Mommy left the room. Even though she was still a stranger that I didn't want to go near, I was scared and lonely, and wanted some company. Mommy ended up sleeping on the floor while I hid under the dining room table. (I wouldn't even let her sleep on the couch- it was too far away from me!) .................................. ..................................
Since then, I have grown to love my new home. I constantly insist that Mommy pet me, I am always the first to greet her when she comes home, and we play fun games of chase the ball and catch the feather. We have very nice conversations too, and I always win arguments. (I'm very outspoken!) I still like to "have my space" sometimes, but I've made a lot purr-gress since moving in. I've started to sleep on Mommy's bed and have even sat on the couch with her a couple times.
Even though Mommy sometimes teases me for being "high-maintenance" (I can't help it that I like things to be exactly my way!) , she tells me that she loves spoiling me because I'm her baby. I'm glad I found such a loving furever home :)

I realized that the links to the news stories (from my previous entry) do not work. If you would like to watch the news videos:
1. In web address box, type in (copying and pasting may not work...) www.zootoo.com/petnews
2. In the "search news" box, type in "Hind Over Matter" (story about paraplegic cat learning how to walk) or "Cat Keeps Orangutan Alive" (the other awesome story)
3. Click on news story title
4. Watch cute kitties and enjoy!

I just saw these news videos about two really admirable kitties and thought I would share them with my fellow catster neighbors:
The first one is about a paraplegic cat who is learning how to walk-- very inspiring!
The second one is a heartwarming story about an extremely unusual relationship...between a cat and an orangutan!
Hope you enjoy! :)
