Tootles is doing great! He was so glad to come home. We picked him up from the Vet
June 14th Tues. I kept him inside for 5 days straight & On Monday this week 6/20/11, I would take him outside and let him walk when I'd let the dogs out for their walks he'd follow a little and rest and just lay out In the grass and would let me bring him in and we did this several times a day....
Now,as of Sat. 6/25/11 I've put him out in early am approx: 6:30 and let him be out all day.
All I would do was go out when taking the dogs for their walk and I would call him and he would come
From out in the yard come to meet and greet then I would come back in. As long as he will come to me when I call I know he is nearby, he loves so much to be free and not cooped up inside! And at night @ around 8:30 or little before I'll go out, call, and here he comes with a slight limp on left front leg and he'll be ready to come inside for the night .....he's doing so good we pray for a full recovery and our old Tootie back to his old self!!!!! :)  

June 11th 2011 Saturday AM

My husband found Tootie in our drive way bleeding.. Our sons Stewart & Blake went outside to see
And check on the cat, they brought him in, did a quick once over exam & found a wound to his right shoulder..There was a lot of blood to both sides of Tootie. We thought he had been attacked by a dog or been in a fight with another cat.. We then rushed him to a local vet. He checked him out and wanted to to keep him to get X-rays and give fluids etc....before we made it home the Dr. Called and told me Tootles had been shot with a 22g gun!!! We were shocked. My oldest son Blake told me he had thought maybe Tootles might have been shot because there were no other injuries and the size of the wound..he didn't want to say anything that might have upset me! Anyway, the bullet went through the Right shoulder & exited via Left shoulder just missing and traveling under the trachea, you could see some shrapnel in the X-rays below the trachea, he could not walk and had a weird gait on his left side, we are hoping no permanent nerve damage.. He will rest and recoup @ the vets for the weekend or so, be on antibiotics and
Prednisone ( steroid) for anti-inflammatory purposes....
