Kentucky Humane Society had their 125 anniversary, so they had a sale. $1.25 for a new friend. We saw "Zanzabar's" pic on the KHS website. My husband went to check him out. He was huge, laid back, and beautiful. He told me about it and I couldn't get off work, so I had to send my daughter up to Feeder's Supply (one of the adoption sites) to get him for me. I was so worried someone would get him before I did, so I made sure that she got up there before they opened so she'd get him before someone else did! :)
We weren't really crazy about the name "Zanzabar", so we change it to Otis. We tried to find names that were another word for "blue", but couldn't find anything we really liked. So, I thought about the blues singer Otis Redding. :)
Also...Otis is a polydactil. :) More claws to help catch mice!
Bio:
Apparently, Zanzabar was found in someone's backyard in Louisville. He was picked up by KHS, and the rest is history!
