Arrival Story:
This was a very harsh winter here in Oscoda, with record breaking temps below zero. While I've always fed the outside beasties (possum, coon, skunk, fox, wolf, squirrels) and told them while they may dine in my yard but not on each other, this winter we had none of those, only the marmalade tabby, who came every night for dinner. We discussed this as a family, Dad, hubby and I, and determined we needed to capture said feline, as he wasn't being properly cared for. A trap was borrowed, and plans set in motion. The night of capture however, Sebastian (he already told me that was his name) was shivering with fright as another feline in the woods howled threats at him. i reached out the door, snatched him by the scruff, hauled him into my arms and slammed the door, trap be damned! We had a crate already set up for him, since we had no idea of his state of health. We found no open wounds that night, and the next day we took him to our vet who did all the obligatory tests, administered vaccines, and made a date for neutering. Now. I'm sure he was someone's pet. And frankly, I don't give a fat rats 'butt about that. He was left out in the cold for months, was always starving, hadn't been neutered, had no collar nor identifying marks. SO, he's my kitty now, and will never be cold or hungry again.

Haven't a clue.

What is a Man-cat to do? Not only do I have Mama, but then there's Misty, and now Maggie, both of whom fit the title "Fancy Pants". Misty's grumpy, but Maggie's okay. She likes to run through the house and play ...

Mama was gone for Catmas, but she brought us back lotsa goodies. She says she's leaving our tree up for awhile so we all can enjoy it.

Gee, it's been a year already. Well, I am one happy cat that's for sure. Except that the grampa person died in February, and I miss him a whole lot. I wanted to go with him. I was grieving for two months, and then I had my vet visit, and got shots, and got sick, and had a fever over 106.4 and mama was afraid i was going to go to Gampers. But I didn't, and I feel better now ... and Mama gives me lots of lovin. Mama switched us to a diferent kibble too ... you guys should all ask for it. No more grain, no more beaks and feet. She says it's "human grade" ... Anyway we feel a whole lot better ... tain_feline_formula/ and i really recommend it....

New Carrier!

Today Mama went to a store just for critters and bought a new carrier JUST FOR ME! I don't have to share Fancy Pants' carrier any more. She gets so upset about that.

I am so happy. Mama figured out what happened to me. In November, over 200 people were laid off from a business here in Oscoda. People packed up and left, and many critters got left behind because people didn't care enough about them. that's about the time I started showing up on her doorstep for hand outs. My first people didn't love me enough to make sure I was okay, they just went off and left me behind to catch my own dinner.

Mama did lotsa kissies on me and said she'll never do that. I have a collar, with tags, and a chip somewhere in me that tells the world I'm HER liddle boy.

and I am grateful.
