Arrival Story:
She showed up on my front porch. I put food out for any cats that need it, and she started to help herself. She didn't show up for a while, so I thought she moved on. One day I went out there, and she spotted me and started to meow LOUDLY at me. I went inside to get her food. When I came out she REALLY let me have it! She ran up on the porch and meowed and hissed as she walked up to the food -I was still standing there! I guess it's a love/hate thing! We have been getting more aquainted ever since. I believe that she is a TNR (trap neuter return) girl as she has the tip of her ear removed and she was already spayed.

Bio:
Aiden Patrick went to the vet, but BRIGID went home with me! LOL It turns out HE was a SHE!!! Even Better, now I have a Princess to spoil (in addition to my mom's Greenlee who I rescued and then who FOUGHT with my 3 sons....) Thank God she testesd negative for Aids, Leukemia and heartworm. She did test positive for hookworm(YUCK), so the princess has to reside downstairs for a whole other month. After that she can slowly get to know Seth, and hopefully Greenlee when she looses a bit of weight, she is breathing a bit heavy, and I do not want to stress her! More to come as I get ot know Brigid better. BTW Yesterday she did her first litle bit of a purr, and this morning she licked my hand instead of biting it! What an ANGEL!!!

   Leave a treat for Brigid

Quick Bio:
-part feral-ADOPTABLE!

Likes:
Not being a feral cat without a home!!! She likes gentle baby talk, and being told she is a good girl. Gentle pets and scratching by the top of her head and neck by her ears.

Pet-Peeves:
OTHER CATS!!!! She went after my Seth, so she needs to be the only pet in the house!

Favorite Toy:
She loves ALL TOYS and to PLAY exhuberantly!!!!

Favorite Nap Spot:
On a heating pad (with a blankie on it - so it's not too hot!)

Favorite Food:
She loves wet food. She likes fancy feast and Avoderm. She just isn't crazy about fish flavored food. She will try new foods pretty easily. She likes dry food too, but I feel that wet food is more healthy, and I try too keep her on a higher protein wet!

Skills:
I think being brave enough to trust humans after being feral is an amazing skill!!! She really loves to play toys and is an excellent toy hunter!

Dwells:
indoors

Adoption info::
I really love Brigid. She is pretty affectionate with me. She will jump up on my lap and lay down and go to sleep! I think that is really trusting for a feral (EX-feral) girl. I am just devestated that she is so aggressive to other cats, and so sadly I had to make the choice to put her up for addoption. She got out of the kitchen where she stays while we try to get Seth and her to get along, and as soon as she saw him in the family room she ran after him and attacked him. No one was hurt, but this is the second time she got into Seth's room and attacked him. I can't imagine that they could ever get along, so it is time to find this sweet princess another home. There are a few issues that Brigid has. She is a sweet and loving girl. That being said, I would not trust her 100% with children. There was only one incident, but she grabbed my daughter's leg with her claws. My 4 year old was very jittery and was wiggling her legs aound and pacing back and forth. Brigid started salking her foot, like a toy, and grabbed her. It has never happened before or after, but Brigid is an AVID hunter, and at times can be very playfull. She would be best off in a home with out children and without other animals. She is verry aggressive to other cats, and I can imagine to any other animal. She needs to be in a calm, loving home, with a kind loving person who wanted ot spoil her. She really REALLY loves to play and so she needs that every day for a few minutes. She goes potty in her box and loves to lay on blankies and even a heated pet pad or bed. She will come with her blankie and her toys (familiar smells can be calming). I will need to email back and forth with some questions and then I will insist on meeting you before she can be adopted, as I want to be CERTAIN that she is going to a loving home where her well being is more than being cared for. Thank you so much for reading more about my Brigid!!!

The boy cat out there is vomiting. I even feel a bit bad for him. I mean it is harder on ME to be mad at a cat that is sick!!!! He comes by my gate more to smell my fancy feast ( he is getting pretty brave). I think they took his good food away. I would puke if they gave me that junky food too (I think - what if it is BETTER than MINE!!!!???) It can't be better, he won't eat it. Anyway I even find myself wishing he felt better. It is no fun being mad at a sick boy!!!!!

Well....so far so good.....

I mean I have to say that it is cleaner in this room. Although there is less room to roam around, it is better than the basement. I was still stressed about moving up here, mostly because of that stupid boy cat up here. I even didn't touch my plate of food for nearly a whole day! My mommy came and sat next to the door and talked to me and I came over to let her pet me. It's the least I could do, as she looked pretty lonely and pathetic on the floor (you should have seen her try to get up off the floor - priceless!) Anyway I was pretty hungry by then, and even though that stupid Seth was within my view, I still ate and didn't even hiss. Usually I hiss growl and smack at the baby gate (kind of like a lynx I think!), but this time I was hungry and enjoying the food, plus mommy was right there in front of me, so it wasn't as bad. He just sat there too, so it was not nearly as aggrevating as usual!
I am only taking this one day at a time though - never can tell!!!!!

My first day in the little jail cell.......

The nice lady picked me up and put me in a carrrier and brought me upstairs (out of the awfull basement) into a tiny room. She put these large things at the door opening (called baby gates) so I can not get out and get to that HORRIBLE cat in the house that she calls Seth. I can still hiss at him and hit these stupid baby gates though, thay can't take THAT away form me!!!! He is so scared of me that at first he hid under the furniture in the front room, although he has the NERVE to sit the beautiful big windows in teh kitchen that USED to be MINE before I attacked him and got moved back to the basement. This room has a large cage in it with soft blankets. It has a nice table I can sit on in front of 2 large windows and it has a climbing/play thing that I can hide in and scratch and play and climb on! Oh, it also has my potty and my food and water. I have a LOT of food. I think it may be beacause it looks really hard to get in here, so I think the lady wanted to stock me up for a while! LOL! All in all the room is PRETTY good, but it has it's downfalls.....
1) I can see that horrible boy cat, but can NOT get to him...
2) There are NO BUGS!!!! I like to hunt them! (even though my mom was really freaked out when she saw them near me and mubbled something about not for her princess.
I will let you all know how it goes. Right now I need a nap!
