Arrival Story:
Hazel had been at our local shelter for 3 years. She was an owner surrender with 2 sisters. They were adopted quickly, but Miss Hazel has a nasty attitude and was not adopted. My husband has been volunteering at the shelter and fell in love with her. I went down to meet her, she was in a cage, by herself, they did not trust her with the other cats. She has mats all over her from not grooming herself. I think she is depressed. We brought her home on a Thursday night and she is not real happy with the other animals so we are keeping her segragated for the time being. She is really sweet and wants to love you but is so scared. I have been tagged a couple of times...but it is just because she is not used to being petted.

Bio:
I changed her name to Hazel because she reminds me of my cantankous great aunt Hazel who will be 98 this year. I thought it fit.

New Home for me

This 4th of July weekend my Male and his female came to get us refugees at the old females house where were had been stranded for 2 weeks. I was ready to go outside and insisted that my male let me out. I went out and refused to come back in. I love it in the weeds looking for birds and mice. I almost caught a road runner! He was a little to fast for me. But my male and his female discussed matters and decided that I could stay with the old female. See they are having issues with too many cats in the house with the new land lord. I think it is crazy not to allow cats in a house...but to each his own. So my male and his female had to give up that young man Truman and the foster Cedrick. They went to a farm! Good for them! The females cats, Oscar & Ernest went to live with my male and their female in Prague. The female will keep you posted on my adventures! Thanks a bunch!

Birds

I have been staying outside alot since the weather is nice. Today the female saw a bird flying upside down and her and the male came outside to see what it was doing. I had caught it! I brought it to the porch and started plucking its feathers. I soon lost interest and wanted to come in the house.

Yesterday they saw me climbing the tree chasing squirrels. I may be old but I am still a mover and shaker. I knew that but they seem to be suprised I still have it!

Snuggles Project

My female has joined the We Love Snuggles Group and started on her first Snuggle this weekend. I feel in love with it and so did the others. The male made us a window seat Saturday and the female finished the snuggle and put it on the window....we were all laying on it and watching the birds and squirrels. The female said that we would start making more snuggles for the shelter I came from. Those inmates need something soft to love...I know I did.

I also started going outside this weekend. I sneek out when the door is open and walk around the yard then come back in. I keep telling the humans I will come back...the female is not so sure and keeps checking on me...the male he trusts me to come back. I think she is just scared that I will get lost. I also learned how to open the screen door to make my escape when needed. I stand on the couch, use my paw to hit the latch and use my head to open the door then I jump out...the female saw me and now is locking the door so I can't get out...did I mention I really don't like her! All I want to do is get some fresh air, I am old, I need it!
