"A Cat's Life by Gracie".

Passing The Torch

It is April of 2006 and I have joined my mother Eygpt in cat heaven. I went peacefully in the night with both my humans beside me. Although their hearts are heavy they have adopted two more cats to replace us. It seems by design that one of them, Smuckers, is very much like my mom and the other, Maddie, is very much like me. I will be the gaurding angel for Maddie and give her all she needs to replace me and have a wonderful life.
This will be my last entry and as such I wish you all happiness and may God bless you all.

A Good Life

I was the runt of the litter, born with a crooked tail, and named Gracie although I'm a guy. Now dont laugh, when I was a kitten I may have been a little akward and my human family kids said I was retarded. My human dad took up for me and told them I would someday be a graceful feline although he missed an important part of my anatomy and thought I was a girl. With these factors in mind they then stuck me with the full name of "Gracie Retardo", geeshhh.
I.m now 14 years old and inspite of my strange beginnings I've had a wonderful life thus far. I grew up to be the favorite of my human mom Carol and best buds with my human dad Max. The three kids were just great to me and now they have all grown up and moved out leaving me my choice of many napping beds. Now my real mom Eygpt taught me how to hunt, get what I wanted from the humans, and to purr and hiss at the right times to achieve my means.
Now you might notice that I lost a couple lives. Well one may be due to old age since they dont know I'm goin to live forever. The other one was because I carried my hunting skills a bit too far. You see I'm an expert at catching lizzards, some birds, and stalking squirrels. One night a strange creature got in our screened in back porch and I as the official house guard decided he had to be evicted immediately. Well he couldnt remember how he got in and although bigger than me I quickly cornered him and began my fierce attack. Big mistake. I found out later he was what is called a coon, but all I remember was a mouth full of teeth with claws. He tore my butt up and they had to sew me back together. Oh well, more later, you all take care now.
