Arrival Story: It was January 16, 2009, around 6:15 p.m. I had just pulled up to the house, and saw my husband Rog walking two of our dogs, Benny and Moey. A stray cat walked over to Rog. Benny and Moey began lunging and barking furiously, so I called the cat over to me. He ran right up to me and let me pick him up.
A few hours later, our beloved old Pomeranian, Minky, became very ill (she'd been unwell for about a month). We rushed her to the animal hospital, but she died there about 8 hours later.
We believe that Minky sent Mr. Knuckles to us to help us with the pain of her loss. What a precious gift he is!

Bio: Knuckles is about 12 weeks old, and is a Maine Coon. And he's a polydactyl on all four of his humongous paws! His front paws have 6 toes each, and his back paws have 5 toes each.
Our vet estimates that Mr. Knuckles will grow up to be nearly 20 pounds. He will outweigh two of our three dogs!

Well, I'm actually a 12-week old Maine Coon. But I was brought to this family by a Pomeranian named Minky. Hence, someone has dubbed me a Min Koon, and I think it's appropriate. So what's happened to me so far?
Jan. 16: I was outside, lost with no collar/tag or microchip, and getting cold and hungry. I saw a nice man walking two dogs, so I started towards him. The dogs were MEAN! Then this nice lady called me over, and I jumped into her arms. She took me inside, where I met two more dogs, including Minky. Sadly, she didn't have much time left on this earth, and she left forever only a few hours later. The nice people gave me some food, which I gulped up, but wouldn't allow me to explore the house!
January 17 and 18: I got to walk around some upstairs, but only when those mean DOGS were behind closed doors or on a walk! More yummy food. At one point I did manage to sneak downstairs, where a mean BLACK DOG tried to corner me. He got a nice scratch across his mean doggy nose for his efforts. Hah!
January 19: With my new mom out during the day, my new dad is giving me a little more freedom. Two of the dogs, Moey and Tippy, are pretty okay. Heck, they're small; I could take 'em both! That black one, though, continues to be mean!
January 20: I'm taken to the vet. I get shots. And then, horrors! I wake up and a couple of little parts of me are missing!! What happened back there??
January 21: Mom's in Montrose. Dad's letting me have the run of the house! I found out the mean dog's name is Benny. With the judicious use of dog treats, he is becoming a little less mean. And that nice Dad let me sleep on the Big Bed!! Eventually, though, I found the nice Moses basket-bed that Minky left me. I will sleep there from now on!
January 22: Mom came home from Montrose. She's a little more nervous than Dad. But she also let me sleep on the Big Bed! (Actually, I slept on her stomach for a while, then went back to my fine Minky Bed.) I think I'm going to like it here.
