Well my friends me and Mom need to say so sorry we haven't let you all know how I am doing. You see this is Mom's busy time of the year and with Thanksgiving just getting over she now has some time to let you all know how I am doing.
I went to the Vet on the 16th for blood work only. Needless to say I was not happy having to go and have that vet tech vampire take more of my blood...thank goodness that is over for now.
My Dr. Kathy called Mom on Friday the 18th to let her know that my numbers went up slightly so now I have to have fluids 3 times a week...so every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday Mom & Dad give me my fluids 100mls...do not like those needles!
I am so good just laying on the counter on my fuzzy blanket that I love to sit on for Mom to brush me, love me and check me for lumps....
Because I am being so good Mom doesn't even hardly have to hold me there, I just sit there and when Mom tells me all done I get up walk on the counter to my plate of can food I get for being a good girl...Mom is so proud of me when I am getting my fluids. Mom and Dad are still getting used to all of this and Mom still worries cause she knows this is something bad and will only get worse, but she is keeping the faith and she is hopeful I will be OK for a long time to come...
Now here are my numbers for those that have asked Mom:
BUN 38 40
Creatnine 8.1 8
On 6/1/11 33
On 9/10/11 26
So as you can see they have gone up, Mom and Dr. Kathy had hoped the numbers would go down...Now Mom needs to find a CRF food that doesn't have a lot of by products and things that she worries about giving me. Does any one have any suggestions on food?...Mom knows I won't eat the food the vet wants Mom to buy from them...
I go back for my blood work in January...
Hi Zena: Has your mom tried Wellness or Before Grains or there is Orijen......you can find details on orijen at:
I eat all the first two but mom is going to try me on Orijen.
Hi sweetie it is good you are doing so well with the fluids, we do not know much about the foods, but I really liked the KD food in the can my vet suggested, we don't know much about what was in it we just trusted the vet. I hope you still have many more years with your family. I had it for a very long time before my numbers went out of control and would mot come down.
lots of love
I get my fluids 3 x a week too, pepcid 2x a day, and azodlyl once a day.
I occasionally resign myself to eating 'healthy' food as in halo or that one put out by dick van patten....the name escapes me...ah, natural balance. However, lately I jones for Fussy Cat and friskies turkey and giblets. It's got alot of moisure, so that probably has something to do with it.
