Shelter here rescued kitties & doggies from Super SandyNovember 20th 2012 4:41 pm[ View A Comments (8) ]
We have to tell you that the shelter where we got out precious Tu Two along with Sea World & Southwest Airlines flew to New York/New Jersey and took 30 kitties and 30 doggies to San Diego to get them new homes. They were in shelters and the shelters were flooded and they may not have been alive because of Sandy distruction. They are all getting treatments, fixed and they will start getting adopted tomorrow...this shelter is a no kill shelter so they will be there until they are adopted.
It is so wonderful shelters/fosters everywhere are trying to aid the poor displaced pets of Sandy. Getting those out of NYC/NJ area so they may be adopted/placed. Thus making room for those who still have not found their Humans. Thanks Southwest and many others who are aiding in the effort. Girl Human did a transport relay from N.Y.C. this last weekend to forever homes. 3 kitties traveled 500 to 850+ miles on 2 relays the same day. The Love Train (tribute on my pg) making room for more kitties looking for forever homes.. There are so many and it is such a wonderful thing for everyone to get involved in, any why possible. Helping to aid these misplaced/scared/injured little victims. Gives everyone involved a feel good feeling. Paws up to all volunteers and organizations involved. That is great that they are doing this. Happy Thanksgiving to them...and to you all, too, of course! What pawsome news! So happy to hear those kitties and doggies will be getting a second chance at a furever home thanks to all those involved! We'll be purring they find those homes! Hugs and purrs, Simon & Reuben(an angel) That's great that they're doing this! Thanks for letting us know about this - nice to read a happy story to start the day! YAYAYAY help is coming to the furbabies!! Sending purrs to all of those babies that they get adopted. thank you my friends, we thought this was great and happy news. Some have already been adopted, more were up for adoption today and more on Friday....we pray too that they all find homes... Helen Woodward Animal Center is a great place, always going to other states and cities here in San Diego to bring dogs and cats from over crowded shelters...like our Tu Two and the best part is they are not a kill shelter... One of Moms clients wanted to find an older kitty, it took her a long time, Mom recommended this place and guess what they found a kitty that had been there for a long time she was a Katrina rescue cat that no one adopted till Mom's client found her. She has now been with them for a year, she happy and has her forever home... So there are happy ending for those that wait...she and others get their second chance. Mom still wishes she could do more and even adopt one, but she just can't right now. Hugs my friends, have a wonderpurr Thanksgiving and remember don't eat too much...and pawrents please be careful and don't let your furbabies get into things that can harm them. Xena and family |
