I ate too much last week and wouldn't eat anything this week. Then I started messin' about the place.I never do that. In the carrier to the vet. The vet assistant looks at my mom and she says, "Weren't you here 3 weeks ago, had a check-up and physically he was fine, just a few behavioural issues! Yup, mum said and now he has similar symptoms to his brofur, Colorado! So I get pokd and proded and I screamed and screamed at the Dr. who then brought me backng to the front room where mum was waiting and said ,"He has colitis!". I think he's a high stung cat who stressed himself into this colitis.
i had colitis back in 2010 it was bacterial in nature and i was having bloody poops. that was the only symptom. i was put on antibotics. then after a week or two i was fine. OMC, you and Colorado have had more than your share of ailments lately. So sorry about that Naparoo, we hope you feel better soon. Hang in there Mum and Dad! OH no, I sure hope you both get better soon and your bum feels better. Get lots of rest that always helps. Sorry to hear about your bum bump! My bump was bum. Drippy and stinky. Wow was it ever. Not every day but maybe 2-3 days a week. Then I would be fine for a week or two and BAM. My bump and floof would be covered in messy poopie. The vet said... yeah sounds like the start of a bad cat joke. Anyhow The vet said it may be this. The vet said it may be that. I tried this medicine. Yeah and another. Then Pops started me on home cooked chicken meals. BAM one week no more poopie problem. None. Nada. Zilch. I now eat some raw food and cooked home made cat food daily. So does Buddy Bud. (He had the opposite problem. Plugging of the pooper.) So we wish you well. Hoping it is just a temporary thing. Pops has considered meds but I have responded to heightened play and exercise. I still attack out-of-the-blue but... I am a bit better now that I am 2+. Rumpy-Bump Stumpnots NEW DIAGNOSIS i HAVE IBD, cOLITIS, AND PANCREATITIS. mUM IS THINKING THAT cOLORADO AND i MUST HAVE EATEN /BAD FOOD/, FOOD GONE PAST ITS POINT FOR SAFE CONSUMPTION WHERE THE SYMPTOMS OF IBD ARE THE SAME. NAP IS VERY SICK, ON MEDS, BUT WHAT TO DO , WHAT TO DO? What do you think. Could it have been food poisoning? OH Nap~! Dat's not good pal~! Gosh, alla dat?? Well guess ya nefur really know's if da foodage is bad...but keep a furry close watch on dates, mommy is an adamant date watcher~! Or us kitties do eat stuff ona floor~ I know Mallee does~ 'n Mommy don't efen know where her finds da stuff~ I don't, am too picky~! I don't know what to sez coz I don't know~! All we can does now iz wait to see if'n da meds do da job~! Gosh Nap, I feel so bad dat U feel so bad~! I not know's, I jus' don't~! I'z purrin' fur U good buddy~! But I bet FINN's mommy will know~! You have a boo boo bum :( Wow, how odd that both you & Colorado should be diagnosed with IBD....and it happened at almost the same time. There must be some correlation there...can't be just coincidence, can it?? I dunno....but I'm purring for you both. And sending head bonks to your mum as well. Get well soon my friend!!! Milo, you so sweet trying to figure all the angles of why we're sick. Now Mum got told by Finn that if we had food poisoning, it would have shown up in the bloods. Our bloods are excellent. Back in 2003-2006 I ate raw chicken but then a funny thing happened. I got crystals--3 times. So the vet told mum to feed me ordinary cat food. I haven't had crystals since. But you're not the first to mention human food so I'm going to check out Timmy's blog. Kato I'm glad you do well for the most part with your IBD. Pixie-- BOO BOO BUM? I'LL Pix, Pix, your Pout! hehe Thanks for caring. Mum thinks this is truly weird that it wasn't food poisoning yet we both are sick: losing weight, lots of it, diarrhea, poor appetite. I dunno. Mum sorta suspects it's Hills Prescription diet T/D!!! Now you know, we're both on appetite medications--that's fun! And today I raced all the way downstairs, then up, across the main floor, then into my dish!. I'm on pain medication so I feel 'nothing'. Dad watched me do all this. Mum says I don't seem sick at all today! Platelicker, I guess we've graduated from chicken broth (last week) to kibble and wet this week.You'r a smart stinker, though! Oops, I mean thinker! Kibbles, thank you fr dropping by. Our bums feel better because there's been no diarrhea for about 3 days now but there are no stools either. That concerned Mum but the vet told her today that it takes a while for the stomach and boel to work together since there was little eating for awhle. We're supposed to look again next week. The vet just phoned checking up on both of us. Mum wanted to know why Colorado gets a B12 shot weekly and I don't . Apparently it's because the diagnosis isn't definitive since i didn't get an ultra sound. but I have the same symptoms so I'm treated similarly although my meds are different. Anyways I can have a B12 shot if I want to ! And of course I always want what Colorado has. So I'm going into the vet tomorrow too for a B12 shot! Thank you all for caring so much. I love you! Love you guys!! I did get that Vitamin B-12 shot. I'm not sure where they put it, though! Also upon mum's inquiry, the vet gave her more of the Buprenex in case I'm still in pain (Pancreas)but she's tapering it off, giving it once a day instead of twice. If all goes well in 3 days, she'll try stopping it. Buprenex is a narcotic so it has to be carefuly monitired. I think it's kinda of fun myself. i think I'm going to miss the 2nd daily shot. AND THE MOST EXCITING PART ABOUT TODAY is we got new food!. Mum brought home Wellness salmon. It was so good, we devoured the can between us in 5 minutes. Mum and dad were like so stunde. Apparently the other two cans are different but we hope we like that one, too. Of course we still eat Hills Z/D with FortFlora mixed in. Honestly I turned against that stuff but my brofur still eats it. He'll eat anything just not much of it! hehe Now for the POOP department. Somebody made stools in the litter box. Looks left, looks right. I think it was me! Catzowey! Wellness izza wonnerful food. Pssst - me and my furs detests dat Hills stuff - even my momma Baci who'd eat anything from any era, would walk aways from it in the bowl! hee hee. So youza keeps eating cuz Wellness might getcha well. We all got our purr masheens revved up at high throttle for high healing! So we ate Turkey and Salmon last night--it's almost as good as the straight salmon but my brofur thinks it's just as fine. He's been asking for it all day. Timmy, what thing did I say about food that caused it? Guido, Rice? I don't know. Mum's tryin to get us away from it, but it's in our Z/D food. Mum & Dad eat rice rice quite a bit and I've never tried to steal any! And you know me, if I want something, I sure will get it! Am I addicted to it? The vet had said if I have pancreatitis I would be in pain and cry out. She says my cries are about me getting hyper not feeling pain. But Mum knows different. She knows my attention getting noises! But I can't seem to go without it! Sheesh! Reckon you should stay on that med? Your Mum knows you best. Jus' stay ona Ur meds, Nap~! What efur makes U feel more comfortable!!~ 'n yeah, Ur sweet Mommy knowz what's best! Jus' as long as Ur feelin' good. Dat's all dat counts, dood! We're purrin' 'n purrayin' fur U, always. Okay, listen to this, Platelicker and Milo. Mum gives me the med once or twice a day but instead of 10 ml/dy like for the first couple of weeks, I only take 5 mls now. Sometimes broken into two times a day, like 3mls, then 2 mls. Today she wanted to give me 2, then 3 later and guess what? She fill the syringe up to 5 and gives me 4! Dumb human She either can't count or can't push properly! I'll probably keep her up all night 'cause I'm sleeping now! MOL! So it makes you sleepy huh... maybe she shud give it to you at nite so she can sleep... *shakes head*... MamaCats... We are so thankful you and Colorado are doin' better. Little Colors wuz beside herself! And lissen... *leans in...* you don't want two of 'em! She's tryin' to ween me off it so that's why the 2ml, then 3 mil at night. The 3 ml knocks me out at least until 5 :00 AM. What am I saying? She needs to give me all 5 ml. at night so she can sleep to 6:30 AM. ! Actually her plan was to take the 2 ml AM away next week and just keep me on the 3ml. Oh this is confusing. I need to ask some pros. I feel a new entry coming. Hey Nap!~ What does da doc say U needz ta do? I agree wif Platey, U should take it at nite if'n it makes U sleepy 'n so Ur sweet mom can sleep good too!~ Dat's da ticket!!!~ or r U spose to take it on'y when needed? I jus' glad Ur doin' better 'n Mallee also been worryin' 'bout ya dood! So jus' see how U do wifout da meds durin' da day 'n take a lower dose at nite, maybe dat would work? Anyfur, whatefur, I jus' want U to feel good 'n be happy. 'N Ur mom cat too!!~ |
