I keep my pawrents up at night and I even yowl during the day, I beat up my brofur and I slapped my mum! So! I got to go the the vet who said there is nothing physically wrong with me! She said I have behavior problems and it's not enough that I play with my mum "hockey" with toy mice. I'm extra active and need more stimulation. The vet prescribed my mom the book about how to teach your cat pet tricks! Yup. I am going to learn tricks! Apparently Bengals do much better psychologically with this kind of fun as well as with toys.
I can't wait!
Mum tried the Medicale Prescripton diet CALM but Colorado loved it and I hated it. So now she ordered me a calming medication that comes in capsule form called Zylkene. It's all natural and when it comes in I'll be sure to hate that too!
Anyfur hear of Zylkene?
No you have been a Bengal.Tell Mom to try a Feliway dispenser. After a couple of months I am resign to loose cats outside. I pace the floor for 3 days when I first saw them. Check YouTube for Bengals doing tricks. Most are trained by the clicker method
We sure hope the medication your Mom is getting for you will work. Feliway is a good way to!
Mum tried Feliway on me for 2 weeks about 2 years ago. She did not find any change in my behavior but thanks for the suggestion.
I have some of those same behaviors, like yowling in the middle of the night and waking up the parents. Have you tried a calming collar yet? Mom ordered one for me a year ago and it's still effective. She puts it on me whenever I get agitated and it settles me right down. It's got natural herbs and smelly stuff inside. Kind of smells like potpourri. I'll pawmail you the info if you are interested.
Luke, I'm interested in that calming collar. After all buddy, if you like it, I should, eh? I want my parents to like me again. I know they love me but--heck we're having our battles.
You know what happened with that CALM food--I threw it up. My pawrents even tried putting out only 6 pieces, very small kibble it is, and I still threw up, and I threw up when it was mixed with my wet food, so Mum figures I'm actually allergic to it!
So go ahead and pawmail with the info!
Buddy you are a Bengal and being active is part of your cat nature. You need more stuff to play with so you get your bouncies out!
I am the ManCat of our purrfamily... so MamaCat tried the plug-in aroma calm things and the calmin' collar with me but they did not calm me down! :D
She has stuff for me to do. A mousie hangin' on a bouncie string from a door knob. Couple of boxes with cutouts. A curvy scritcher. Two big round ball chase toys. A plastic bottle with a bell in inside. She got a mouse-a-round and a roll up and around door hanger but I killed both of them :D
Oh I do love the laser light!
Thanks Luke. Mum ordered the collar today.
Platelicker, i have played with all those toys in the past. The vet says the most important play is with the special person with a toy. Mum already knew this and why we play mousie everyday. With learning tricks, mum wants me to learn to bring the mouside back to her ALL the time!Mum got me mouse-a-round and a roll up and around door hanger but I killed both of them two years ago. I still like to play with stuff on a string but not for as long as I used to. I guess being 13, I'm starting to slow down a bit but I'll get mum to leave out a few more toys again. Thanks for your suggestions.
Calming collar, calming collar, calming collar! I can't meow it enough! Those things are awesome. Took away all my Moe Moe stress! Phew, it's hard work being me you know! hehehe! Even mellows out River when he's hanging out near me!
Hope the calming collar works for you. I was a Bengal today and let my Mom know that I needed to see what she was doing by starching her. Napoleon, she didn't like it. I got uick up and headbonks from her. Mom been thinking by IBS was better since she changed food. However, I had bad teeth pulled last spring. That might have made a difference about weight gain and almost no upset stomach. Mom is still changing things around the apartment. Kato
Sounds like yer MamaCat has got you lots of play things to keep you bizzie. Maybe the calming collars will help you but didn't me. *flexes paw muscles* Nope... not me ;D
Still... we don't want you funderpawin' Colorado... maybe ya'll need to separated when yer MC is not around.
Colors and Cheetoes live in a bedroom when MC is not home. GAGA lives in MCs bedroom. Ok... why? 'Cause I attack 'em! Colors and Cheetoes are little but you should hear 'em growl at me! I kinda like it but MC don't.
GAGA has no front claws... she came that way... so she can't be around me at all and I say Pffttie! to that!
Gotta get back to fly watchin'... Love you Brother : )
Kato, you had teeth pulled! I was put under for a serious cleaning! They are pretty good now. Mum brushes them often-glares at her. kato, I wonder how your mum's couch is looking!.
Platelicker, I kinda want Mum to see how tough I am, so I like to pick on Colorado when she's around. Flexes his muscles! I never do it when she's out! Even Dad says so since he's working from home. He's okay except he likes to nudge me if I sleep too much during the day.
Last night I stretched over 2 long catnip pillows and fell right to sleep!
Once when I as sick. After a week at the vet I passed one of those tie wraps. That was the cause. Mom is careful that I don't find any to play. My mouth was sore before the teeth were pulled and after. It is much better now.
Finney, Mom thinks you are right on. I eat small amounts, my water is filtered as my pawrents is. Mom puts ice cubes in my water fountain to fill it. I drink more often. While I do get grain; I don't have many spells.
