My next-door neighbor found Molly, left behind, under a pine tree down the street from where we lived. Her father being blind, she wasn't allowed to keep the little trip-hazard, so she brought Molly over in a box to spend the night with us. My mother was VERY against the idea of us keeping her since we already had a little-box trained Holland Lop-eared Rabbit running the house at the time. Wellll... by morning, my mother was telling me that if we kept her we'd have to get -- and there was a laundry list of things we went out that afternoon to buy and Molly has been ours ever since!
Bio:
On June 20, 2009 we, very sadly, had to let our little girl go. Old age claimed her, taking her ability to walk very well and she really wasn't eating or drinking due to weakness. I held her as her vet put her quietly and painlessly to sleep and we said our goodbyes. He took her to Faithful Friends (http://www.faithfulfriendspetmemo rycenter.com/) to be cremated with other animals and her ashes were spread in a beautiful wooded area.
2 days later, Molly's best friend of 18 years, Samantha (Sammy), who was my mother's cat really... just decided she couldn't be here without her best friend anymore. Despite having not seen Molly for a smidge over a year, Sammy laid down on June 22nd, 2009 and fell naturally asleep, going to join her best friend and wait for all of us on the Rainbow Bridge.
