Now down on earth, I wouldn't have acknowledged her birthday at all. Funny how Heaven changes a guy.

Rest in Peace

Dear Catster Community,

It greatly pains me to inform all of Deej's friends, both feline and human, that he passed away after a sudden illness at the age of six on 9/4/09. We are deeply mourning the loss of our "son." I thank Catster for providing a warm and loving community in which Deej could express himself. He loved seeing himself in photos on the computer and he was very proud when Catster, on several occasions, chose his diary as Diary of the Day. He brought us so much laughter and happy memories. Over the years, Deej inbedded himself in our hearts, as we watched him grow from a scrawny kitten, into a formidable beast. Deej may have been tough and cantankerous on the surface, but deep down, he had a heart of gold. HE took care of US, not the other way around. We don't know what we will do without him.

9 months?!?

I surrender!

I have- uncharacteristically- surrendered, as far as the Tiffany situation is concerned. I've realized she is no threat to my place in this household and is actually quite sweet. She and I have become really close, if ya know what I mean. ;^}

Miss Priss

It's been over aweek and that new cat is STILL HERE!!! I just don't know what to think of her. She is so very quiet. It makes me wonder what she is thinking. Is she plotting against me? I wouldn't be surprised. Even though I am 4 times her size (she can't weigh more 'n 5 pounds soaking wet), I cannot intimidate her! My growling makes zero impact, other than she's learned to BACK OFF when I am eating. "Getcher own!" I told her, and she complied.

To Mom & Dad's credit, they have been giving meas much attention as always. So basically, the jury is still out on this one.

Another cat in the house!

It's been awhile since I've had something happen worth blogging about. But this is an absolutely unblievable turn of events!

Here's what happened. The human Teenager in our household somehow acquired a little, young, long-haired, female cat and managed to get her into the house and secretly keep her on the front porch. This was the living situation for several days, before my human Mom was informed of her existence.

In the meantime, I was introduced to the little Miss and made it known to her that I am the ONLY cat allowed in this house. I bristled my fur and hissed and tried to intimidate her with my brawny size. To my shock, the petite pussycat hissed right back at me!

Mom was on my side at first. She did not even want to look at the new cat. She felt there are enough animals here already... me, the dog, 2 rats, a hamster, a turtle and lots of fish. But somehow she got suckered over by the deceptively angelic face of the new kitty. She picked up her up and proclaimed her name to be "Tiffany Jewel" (although the Teenager calls her "Twinkie"). She and Dad have been trying to force Tiff and I to be friends. No success thus far!

No surprise here, but Stoopid Dawg LOVES Tiffany to pieces! He wags his stumpy little tail and dances and licks her as though she is a personal gift to him.

Needless to say, I have been in a VERY grouchy, sulky mood. Dad says I am still 'The Man of the House,' but I feel... so... violated! I need some advice. Maybe I'll write a letter to "Dear Tabby."

A Febreeze Collar!

Gee, my friends Zeke, Romeo and Cleopatra have left me a present... a Febreeze collar! I never knew this product existed. Please, don't tell Mom & Dad! They'll surely buy me one. (Dad says I am "stinky!!") I don't want to have to give up my Harley Davidson "Bad to the Bone" collar. Whose idea was this, anyway? And do they make Febreeze collars for dogs? I smell like a rose compared with Stoopid Dawg!

One of my peoples has a B-day!

Today the teenaged member of our household, Caitlin, turned 16! I understand that this a very important birthday for humans, especially girls. I don't see how any one birthday can be more special than another, as long as there's presents and cake involved. Which reminds me: I'm disappointed that Caitlin did not have ice cream cake. She got chocolate instead, so poor me couldn't have any! Oh well. Daddy Pete has a birthday coming up in August, and there's Father's Day even before that. So I'm bound to get a taste of yummy ice cream cake sooner or later!

I have a new best friend, by the way: Caitlin's friend Ashley. She described me as "so cool!" and said I was "The Ultimate Cat!"

I couldn't agree more.

My Birthday

Hey Pals,

Another birthday has come and gone. This one was a bit different from the others. First of all, because of my humans' busy schedule, we celebrated a day late. AND, I had to share my special day with Stoopid Dawg, because they forgot his birthday in February! But it turned out OK. I got to chow down on some Fancy Feast... some exotic turkey concotion... YUM! I was given a nice new bowl, which is cleverly shaped like a cat! My only complaint is that the bowl only has the capacity to hold about a fifth of what my tummy can!! I also got some new toys: things on strings and roly-poly doo-dads with feathers! I may be 5, but my inner kitten doesn't mind coming out to play once in a while. I am lucky to have a family who loves me and gives me the coolest gifts. I even forgave their off-key singing of "Happy Birthday." ;^P

Today is my Birthday!

Well, today is my birthday. I am 6 years old. Wiser and more mature, but not quite a “grumpy old man” yet! I’ve been wished “happy birthday” by my humans, but no presents so far. I have heard murmurings that there’s something planned for tomorrow. I am guessing that the “something” will involve presents, tasty food and a PARTY! I know my folks’ll take care of things really well. It’ll be almost like Christmas in March! I will tell you all about it, and maybe have a new picture or video to share.
